i am considering purchasing the adams golf tight lies set from rock bottom golf ($300). Anyone have any experience with this brand? I havent really heard much from them and was wanting to know if the set was a good buy. I am also considering the wilson prostaff fs set ($300) or the top-flite xl set ($200). I am a beginner and want a set that will last me a full season or 2 while allowing me to improve my game.

My gf just bought an 8 pc set (Idea a3OS) from them and she loves them. It had a driver, some hybrid irons, PW, SW, putter and bag. It was a huge improvement to her game only after one round.

i'm sure she's recommend them to anyone. I hope this helps.

I've got the Ovation 3 Iron Set (4-LW). I really like them, easy to hit, good weight, etc. The only downside were the grips - for the first few times using them my hands were black from the grips, but eventually they stopped becoming black.

I have Adams Irons and they are very nice clubs for the price. The Quality is great and they have a nice feel. My hands never turned black, but I did notice my glove blackened a bit.

I have A2OS Irons, and the Watson gap and sand wedges. I love em. I was testing their hybrid 3w to replace my R7 3w over the weekend and it felt very solid in comparison to the new burner and Cleveland.

Adams is apparently a "value" brand, as in price over quality, but I haven't noticed, I hit the Wedges better then my dads Vokey, and that's all that matters to me. That's preference though, my dad hits his better then my Watson.

I haven't got my irons, that's the next paycheck.

Hi,

I have A3OS irons/hybrids and I love them. At first, the wide soles on 6-8 irons was a little weird but now I am so comfortable with these clubs I couldn't imagine hitting anything else...at least until I decide it's time for some new clubs :) I'd recommend Adams.

I have their driver and am not disappointed in it. If I get to the point of a new driver, I may or may not go with another Adams.

I am considering trying their 3-hybrid at some point. I really like the look of the boxer hybrids (which is odd, because I don't quite like the look of a square driver).

Their woman's starter set is one of a few sets I suggest to a few female friends that are looking to get started in golf. I'm not sure what, if anything, this says about the set you're looking at, though.

I use Adams Speedline woods and hybrid and they are awesome. Adams Idea Pro Gold irons are very nice in feel and get quite good distance. I would expect their other clubs to perform just as well. Their economical wedge set Tom Watson PVD is a bit lacking when imposing spin on the ball, so for the 56 and 60, I would look elsewhere.

Adams is most known for their hybrids (they were one of the first companies to get into the hybrid market), but Ive heard great things about them.
IMO, they are one of the more underrated golf companies.

I've got decent spin from my 60 Watson PVD. Not as much as a Vokey, but I'm more accurate with this too.

ADAMS is a top of the line OEM with eveything from Tour to lower end PRICE equipment. I don't think you sacrifice anything quality wise, but I would shop around at other forums and ebay before I would pay that price for that particular set of clubs. There's better ADAMS equipment to be had at waaaaay better prices. Don't shy away from used.

I saw the Adams Tight Lies Plus at Dicks yesterday and was impressed. I resisted the urge to pull the trigger there and drop $499 + tax and went home to log onto ebay....long story short I won a complete set for $375 shipped!

I haven't tried anything Adams before, but I just purchased their Tom Watson PVT black SW. But from what I hear it's a good brand.

If you're shopping at rockbottomgolf, why don't you check the Mizuno MX-950 irons? They're $399 with free shipping. I got mine from them.

I would go to Golf Galaxy/Dicks Sporting Goods or any of the major golf shops and go snag a set of Adams A3's for $299. They have 3 hybrids in the set that normally go for 80-120 each. I just bought them and I absolutely love them.

    • With the hot weather……I’ll take a Gatorade please.
    • 60 minutes on the local school playing fields, trying to discover my former grip,I found it and used a lob wedge with which I was able to group 3 balls pretty near together, very happy to have found my old grip and its give me a lot more confidence so I can go have a round of golf with my brother and his step sons,I have not stepped on a course for 20 years, still I can hit my old yardages and that's great as I'm now 62...everybody have a great day
    • I have this issue as well. I play in a bi-weekly league and I generally work on my drills and feels as I'm playing in the league...lol. But to be honest, they really do not affect me in a bad way too much. If anything, my irons are actually more crisp.  The issue comes in when I transition to the woods....so I try to find a happy medium there for the time being. But as far as bad shots go, they are no worse than they were before worrying about drills and what not.  Just speaking for my experience, obviously.
    • Another good episode. I below its a skill to be able to find a functional swing between where you were and where you want to be. I am guilty of trying to do too much on the course instead of just playing.  The goal is to play golf better. Not turn a round of golf into a practice session.
