There are heaps of good blades out there for much less than Cameron prices. Like others have said Ping is a good bet, check out Rife (I got mine used for $50) and Yes! putters which have groove technology that get the ball rolling faster, Odyssey have some nice blades in their product line. The best thing to do would be to go and try out as many as you can and pick the one you like best.

Are those putters that are a little extended out in a circle behind the club, like the Cleveland Classic #2, are those blade or mallets? I'd think they are like the hybrid of the putting world haha. But I sorta like the look of those, sort of classic feeling to it.

That's a common misconception.

Yep - I just picked up a Rife Abaco, which is more mallet than blade, and that design is a heel-toe weighted. It fits an arc stroke much more naturally than a straight-back-straight-through.

IMHO, with putters, its all about how much you "like" your putter. That will give you confidence, and confidence will certainly help your putting. Just my .02¢

Can I get some Blade putter recommendations? Anything but Scottys, don't have enough money for them.

Heavy Putter C2-DF. I got one for 40 bucks and love the feel. It has the classic blade look, and I could not be happier

Is there really much of a difference? Or is it down to the person? I have a nike ignite mallet, but I'm thinking of selling it to my dad and buying a blade. I just decided I like the feel of blade putters more. Is there any reason or is it just a person's feel?

I think it's mostly personal - I would look at two things after look and feel: 1) how's your distance control, can you put it within 2 feet of the hole from 30+ feet consistently and 2) how confident does it make you feel from 3 to 5 feet? Finding all of those things, look, feel, 1 and 2 can take many moons but when you find it you won't remember how difficult it was to get there. Once you find a putter don't let it go or talk yourself into another one. Good luck!

The #2 is a heel shafted putter, which helps close the face of the putter because all of the weight is in front of the shaft. Some call it a mid-mallet, but to me it has the feel of a blade. Very similar to the Odyssey White Hot #9, but without the insert.

    • You should read section 5A(5)a of the Committee Procedures.  The Committee has the authority to define when and how a scorecard has been "returned".  While the new method isn't specifically mentioned, the PGA Tour is definitely operating within the Rules in making this change.
    • I tried this again today. Again, I used the random picker app on my phone and I set the targets into my SC4. I used carry distance not total distance.  I did everything the same except today I decided to print out my actual shot distances for you.  Target Club Actual Difference Score Score vs Par 90 GW 101.4 11.4 Double 2 95 GW 93.9 -1.1 Birdie -1 100 GW 102.4 2.4 Birdie -1 105 GW 100.6 -4.4 Par 0 110 GW 108.2 -1.8 Birdie -1 115 PW 128.3 13.3 Double 2 120 PW 117.8 -2.2 Birdie -1 125 PW 125 0 Eagle -2 130 PW 130.9 0.9 Eagle -2 135 9I 126.7 -8.3 Bogey 1 140 9I 139.2 -0.8 Eagle -2 145 8I 125 -20 Double 2 150 8I 138 -12 Double 2 155 7I 156.7 1.7 Birdie -1 160 7I 172.1 12.1 Double 2 165 6I 168.3 3.3 Par 0 170 6I 177.6 7.6 Bogey 1 175 6I 169.7 -5.3 Par 0 Average miss     -0.18 yards     Av of Absolute     6.03 yards                       Total is one over par.   1 I did much better today in terms of hitting some close enough to make some eagles. The eagles really help your score.  The average miss is just the difference between target and actual carry distance, which I guess could be used to see if I'm more likely longer or shorter. Looks like I'm about equally off long and short. The average of the absolute valve of my misses kind of tells me how close to the target I usually am.
    • If the PGA Tour wants to distance itself from the integrity of the Official Rules of Golf, then fine.
    • PGA Tour amending rule on incorrect scorecards (aka the Jordan Spieth rule), effective immediately Jun 18, 2024 | 8:31 AM Good change. Ok, lemme have it die hards!
    • Amazing US Open to watch. Of course I was rooting for Bryson, but a little part of me wanted a W for Rory. Hope this fuel Rory to win a major soon.  Interesting to see how much is going to take for Aberg to win his first major.  Scheffler is human, thank god.. we need more tight final rounds like this.
