and once again couldnt capitalize

That pin position was a little too tight for anything but a full wedge. Impressive, but not very smart play by Quiros.

I've seen a lot of big hitters on the tour, JB Holmes, Sergio Garcia, but can anyone measure against Quiros? His short game is not good, but what the heck, he's fun to watch. If he keeps his accuracy and improve his approach shots, he could be hitting the pins.

He is pretty much the European, Right-Handed version of Bubba Watson.

He seems like a nice player, but I'm not sold on him around the greens and putting (as far as the Tour goes, obviously he's a lot better than me or your average player as a putter and stuff, I'm saying compared to the top wedge players and putters on Tour.) If he gets better from 100 yards and in, this guy could win some majors for sure. He seems like one hell of a ballstriker. It's been a g ood tournament so far. Somewhat figured this would happen - I don't think it will be very interesting over the weekend, I think Tiger's going to win by at least a few shots.

And he's hitting his approach with the driver! Didn't find the green, but definately got it out there. If he was 270 something out, could he not get there with a wood?

Bet he wants his revenge after last weekend, but I think Tiger will crush him again. He's mercyless.

Although Tiger is playing well, Quiros is much more fun to watch now, driver approach shot on the 607 yard par 5! Didn't find the green though, but he certenly had the distance. I like him.

Guess I'll paint the dining room this weekend.. For some reason nobody close to tiger decides to play well and tag along. how boring. not b/c tiger shoots 67, b/c nobody else close by makes a push

The presentation was already made last night and Tiger won!

I thought Westwood grounded his club when he was addressing the ball in the hazard on 16 just now - anyone else see this?

Impossible to tell, and thus, probably didn't. You can touch the grass - you can't sole your club on the ground or when the club meets real resistance.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
