Dang thats cool! It has to be distracting to fellow players though. I bet the PGA looks at this a little bit before it gets too out of hand.

I can't ever see one of these on Tiger's or Mickelson's bags. Ever notice how the better players are the ones who least fiddle with new things like this? It's funny.

Don't condemn TaylorMade on this, they don't have anything to do with it. The company is Pro Bag Ads, a dinky little startup in Scottsdale. It just happens that the player they've suckered, er ah I mean "enticed" to play their product plays TaylorMade and has their bag.

I usually root for small technology startups to make it, but in this case......

Just one thing - i barely can read the ads in the picture - so if you are a spectator visiting such a event, what are your chances to actually read the ad closeup. Not to mention, that the covering network barely will make closeups of these screens to present advertisement to its viewers for free....

I won't be surprised when some network starts superimposing advertising of their own choosing over the logos on the players and their bags, or the signs on the course. FOX does this heavily for their MLB and NFL games (at least replacing the stadium ads via superimposed video effects) - hopefully CBS and NBC have a little more class!

I think it's great that all the other players will be able to watch Tiger or Phil's highlight shots even if they aren't in the final pairing that day.

      I've been really absent all things golf since September but have been getting the bug lately.  Today in SE Michigan we have our first thaw of the year.  It is Sunny and 53 degrees and boy do I want to get on a golf course!  Spring is around the corner 🙂

      I assume you are posting 15 or 16 holes and letting the USGA algorithm insert projected scores for the missing holes. How is that going? Are the projected scores reasonable? I have yet to do this.

      You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.

      @DeadManI used to use the Swing Speed radar and, in hindsight, it seems very unreliable.  As @iacassaid, it's prone to misplacement, and I'd sometimes get wildly different speeds from swing-to-swing: like a 103mph, followed by 118mph, then a 102mph, then a 114mph.  I didn't know any better at the time and thought that was normal.  I've since upgraded radars and the new speeds seem much more accurate/consistent. Also, Mike Carroll (FFG) used to have the SSR and he now calls it a 'random number generator'.
