Recently completed 18 holes with some Top Flite 'Freaks'.

Apparently, they are straight and extremely long... although I was the recipient of neither characteristic. Surprisingly, they did a better job of holding the greens compared to most two-piece "distance" balls.

I recently got a free sleeve of Callaway Diablo balls and I have to say, i'm impressed with it. Not a premium ball by any means but they felt great off the putter, off the driver, and was accurate with my irons and wedges.

Aside from that, Bridgestone E6 has been my go-to ball for awhile. My work horse that gets it done.

Had been using the Bridgestone B330 RX (got a great deal on them - 3dz for $90). Really a good ball but too expensive... Recently switched to the Gamer V2 and its really good especially at $20/dz. I actually picked up 2 dz for $28 at the Callaway Golf Center in Vegas on my last trip.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I'm currently playing the Srixon Soft Feel as my top choice b/c of the way it feels off the club. I too also like the Srixon AD-333 and Bridgestone E6. I've only been golfing for a few short months and at first a ball didn't really matter to me as long as I had some in the bag to hit as I would lose many. Now as I'm starting to develope a better game, I'm seeing the difference in the feel and quality of golf balls. One thing is thou, I will not buy new golf balls, I opt to go to websites and order recycled 5A balls that look and feel brand new for 1/2 the price. Plus this allows me to try new balls without sacrificing to much money.

I picked up a box of Top Flite XL Distance balls in yellow. These are my new favorite budget ball. I can get them to check up enough for my liking on the the greens, they feel good off my irons, and they are very easy to see in the Indiana fall.

I have been using the Nike One Vapor Speed. I like them a lot. Used one ball for 18 holes and only had one little scuff on it.

I can't remember the last time I played a round with one ball.

Primary ball is TaylorMade TP Red/Black LDP or Maxfli C3 Gold/Black (same ball as TaylorMade). Also use Bridgestone E5, TopFlite Gamer/D2 Feel, and I think I've got a couple sleeves of Titleist DT Rolls.

Z-Stars are my primary ball. Love the way they feel around the green and with the putter.

    • On the subject of teenagers in professional tournaments there is a kid (Kris Kim) who is a member of my club in England and is at my old school. He’s 16. He’s playing in the pga tour event in Texas this week. Shot 69 yesterday for T31 and is -2 today through 5 holes. T55 and on the cut line. I really hope he makes the cut. Will be awesome.    His dad I believe is a teaching pro and his mum was on the LPGA Tour for a while.
    • I have two contenders here that stick out to me: In second place, a putt to win the hole playing the 16th hole at Burnham and Berrow. Playing foursomes and the green has a big bank at the front then a flat bit and then it goes up again to a back shelf. My partner had hit our second shot onto the back shelf. We were 2up at the time and he was being a little wobbly so we didn’t want to lose the hole. Our oppo were conceded a 4 and my partner told me to just lag it down there nicely. 20 year old me meant to do that and failed. I hit it a bit hard and it was definitely going to clear the tier and probably run off the front of the green, but it hit the hole right in the middle and went in. My partner was very happy we won the hole but quite upset at my ability to follow instructions.    Number 2 is my most memorable. I was about 16 playing in the junior knockout at my club. We get to the 10th hole - long par 4 and index 2. I didn’t hit a very good drive, hit my second up about 60 yards short and pitched on to maybe 25 feet. I started walking and I got this feeling. I knew I was going to hole it. There was no doubt at all. I’ve never felt like that any other time in my life but this one putt was a certainty. It was February and the greens had been recently hollow tined so they were in awful shape. I didn’t even line it up. I hit my putt and it bumped and bounced all over the place until it went in the middle of the hole. If I could bottle up that feeling and sell it I’d be up there with Bezos and musk. Mind blowing!
    • It's strange how ONE person can be THAT much different/better/whatever than anyone else.
    • I saw a YouTube review on a bunch of ball brands and the Maxfli Tour X did very well in comparison. I bought a sleeve and found them to be excellent in feel and distance. But I’m a lousy golfer so nobody probably cares about my opinion. 😃
