my wife and i were watching the pres cup and i thought about all the clothes these guys wear during the course of the year. most of them wear some pretty good stuff. i can't imagine they wear the same thing more than once or at least a couple of times. tiger probably just once. they don't take them to goodwill, i'm sure they don't throw them away.
what do they do with them?

Keep them in their closets. Except those shirts from 1999.

I believe Tiger has a deal with Upper Deck, you can look around on E-Bay and find shirts, hats, and gloves all authenticated and signed by Tiger, and allegedly worn by him during tournament play.

If you watch Thursday coverage of a PGA tour event, the players dont look near as pretty as they do on prime time coverage on Sunday. I would guess their sponsors dress them up a bit nicer then. I have noticed that their shirts tend to have that "just out of the wrapper" look to them all the time. At least the top players.

Given they play virtually every day, I would imagine they were them out fairly quickly and then throw them away.

there was an article about how the big companies already have what guys like tiger for instance will wear even next year at certain tourneys.

I think it was Nike golfs Twitter page mentions one of it's players, possibly Paul Casey, was at "the oven" chosing what he was going to wear at next years majors. That was about a month ago.

Also Ian Poulter mentions on his Twitter that when he cleans out his coast the signs a lot of shirt, hat, and shoes and auctions them off for charity.

Fat Phil wears a lot of the same crap every week. He's worn that beige Barclay's shirt that is 1.5 times too small with the brown pants about 15 times this year. Golf Channel had Tiger's assistant on the Wednesday of the PGA practice rounds and she was showing all of the shirts he was wearing that week - she pulled them out of a FedEx box and they were all still in the wrapper.

I love it, no Fat Phil love. Thanks for that!

me personally coming from a sports entertainment background from the NBA, ties in the NFL, and MLB.... it varies...BUT the big contract names are one and done.
sneakers, shoes, batting gloves, hats are one and done.
baseball's a little different b/c they have to break in the mitts so they keep them for the year and get a new shipment at the beginning of the new year to start breaking in.

when at was with the Nets there was a room in the office that people would be like ARE YOU SERIOUS?
you walk in..every player..sneakers to the top... practice jersey's etc...
Jay Kidd would give away his kicks after each game..you see people like Lebron and Kobe doing that too...

Jordan really started it asking for a new pair of kicks for every game... why I don't know..b/c I HATE breaking in new shoes.

but a lot offer their stuff for charities...depends if they have deals or not.

I can't remember who it is off the top of my head, but there is someone on tour that always seems to have the fold lines on his shirts since they are literaly "just out of the wrapper".

Yeah Id imagine they sell them as memorbilia.
