Hey, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on playing a 2H over a 5W?

I also need to find a club to take out of my bag.. I usually just pick one depending upon the course to take out, but I actually wanted to find a definitive club to take out permanently. Did anyone find a club that does do much (I know, vague, but w/e)? I like 3 wedges, but I also think I could manage with two, but I would need to get different degrees (wich I am in the market for wedges anyway).

I play a 2h. As my signature says its the Callaway FT series. The only reason I have it is because it has the look of a 5 wood, but 1* degree stronger (18*) I love the thing. That being said, I could go either way, 2h or 5w. I went 2h becuase it will go maybe that tiny bit longer.

I play the fusion #2 which is 17 degrees and it replaced my old 975 18.5 5 wood. Here on Long Island we have a lot of Kentucky Blue rough and the 5 wood just was not getting me out with enough juice anymore so I made the switch and could not be happier.I hit it up to 225 and STRAIGHT so it was a good swap for me.

I like fairway woods over hybrids. I just can't swing the hybrid like an iron, it just doesn't happen for me. I plan on getting a 5W soon and maybe cutting it down an inch or two.

I play a 2H mainly because of #11 at my club...i have to hit my 3H 100 percent perfect to reach it and even then i can't reach a back pin location (205 up a fairly large hill) and a 3W is to much club...

I put in a 2H this past year and just took out my 3I. I use a 4-W set up then the 2H. I didn't have a 5W though. The 5W and 2H are going to be pretty similar, at least as far as what you can get out of them. With you bag, I would decide on the 2H or 5W and also take out the 3I. I have found that I can hit my 2H a variety of distances to cover any gaps between what I can hit a 4I and 3W. The hybrid is pretty easy to 'take a little off' so it can cover a lot of different distances. You might be able to do the same thing.

The other question to ask is how many times you hit them. Do you find yourself in a bunch of situations (3-4 or more a round) when you are pulling the 3I or 5W? You might be better served to try and make one club useful for a variety of distances where the success rate is low anyway, than to take our a scoring club.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I took my 3W out to make room for my 2H. The 3W was my least accurate club and I love the 2H.

I do miss my 3W, and want to get it back into the bag, but I have to get better hitting it before it goes back in.

If the 3W makes it back, my LW, GW, or 3H will have to leave.

If you really want a 2hybrid, you could get rid of the 52 and 56 and pick up a 54. That solves both problems.

I love my 2H its a very solid club, but i also love my 5W so i decided to carry only 4 irons due to my 4 hybrids and 4 wedges. I would suggest to you to remove possibly a 4 or 6 iron because anytime you are hitting a 4 unless you love it you should probably be hitting club that is easier to hit anyway.

I play a titleist 909 2hybrid or a mizuno mp52 3 iron depending on the course im playing if the course has a lot of left to right tee shots ill put the hybrid in since i primarily hit a draw with the 3iron and the hybrid i move right a little better.

Exactly what I've done.

I have been thinking about only having 3 wedges, but my distances are as follows:

PW-~125-130 52*-~115 56-~85-90(This is terrible(for me), I would like it around 100yds) 60-~70 That being said, if I move to a 54 and take out the 56 and 52, will that the 54* give me enough versatility to hit these shots? I would assume a 54* for me would be around 105-110, hopefully. Then if I go to a 54, I almost feel obligated to go to a 58 to compensate for the lower end of the 56. so I would again assume that a 58 would go around 80yds I would hope. Furthermore, does anyone play a 58 as their highest lofted club, and does it handle itself well around the green in comparison to a 60? Groovezilla, where do you play, looks like we are located in the same area?
