Ugh. Sunny, 26*, and snow everywhere here in Indy. More on the way tomorrow, though only 1-2". We'll still have piles of snow in May this year I think.

Gee, sorry to hear that....brrrrrr! OK, those of us in San Diego are a bit cocky about our weather and never miss a chance to rub it in - it helps us feel better when we have to write our mortgage checks.

Seriously though, that is extremely delightful for Portland this time of year. And just to give you some real bragging rights, your weather is actually better than San Diego right now - we're cloudy today and about 62 with rain moving in for the weekend.

Does it help you feel better when your football team chokes again in the playoffs?

Wait, I don't think I'm allowed to make that joke.

Yes, you're allowed to make the joke. But wait, if one is actually just stating facts does that make it a joke?

Nothing really makes it feel better, but since it happens so frequently we're all just kind of numb to the Chargers choking! Some great talent, and Norv Turner is an OK coach, but if I owned a team and was committed to winning I wouldn't have gone out and hired a coach with a long losing record - we need someone who can motivate all the talent and pull together the egos! I'd like to see what the Chargers would be with someone like a Bill Cowher or Sean Payton at the helm. I've found after living in Southern Cal for the last 30 years that we just don't really develop the passion for our football teams that most other places do. Look at LA: a metro area of nearly 10 million people and they can't draw in a pro football team, and have lost the ones they had. Some say it is because we have such good weather and there are always a lot of other things to do, or perhaps it is because our teams consistently underdeliver when it really counts (except for the Lakers). Oh well, it's just one other part of the price we pay for living here.....

Kewl replies. Weather is certainly strange-- nomally would go snowboarding too; there's only 68" base (normally 180")
It's been 60º+ for the past several days and I noticed all the cherry blossoms coming out; about a month early. Going to
play this weekend-- the courses here are JAMMED up due to this unseasonable weather. I can't wait for SUMMER!

**Crey23, yeah kiteboarding is the sickest. Be careful and take learning seriously-- mistakes on the water are usually
harmful to your health! Winter is Florida's kite season.

The green fees in oregon go down quite a bit for winter, but I was in the bay area, CA over
christmas and noticed that they don't have a winter rate schedule! Darn.

    • Day 6: lighter session today after a long day. Just some mirror work and slow swings to try to get my feels down.
    • @Philip Belgium,  If I haven't already, Welcome to TST.  Your injury sounds serious and I hope you fully recover.   Thanks for sharing your story.  ..... each day get 1-2% better.   (A ray of sunshine and a positive outlook)
    • Day 91 (1  Aug 25) - Pre-tournament practice round today…had some great up and downs for par saves.  Rain came in this evening so it will be a totally different playing course tomorrow.
    • Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.  I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.  Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.
    • Played 9 holes, shot a 39.  Kind of got around. Everything between the trees, so in play. Short game was rusty. Got to get back on that. Greens were stupidly slow because they got a lot of rain yesterday and probably couldn't cut them down. Usually in the summer they are firm and pretty fast for how sloped they are. Got to work on face to path a bit.
