I don't know if this is a sensitive/personal subject, but on average, how much do you guys spend on golf related expenditures (clubs, balls, green fees, membership, etc.) per month? per year?

I'm a student so I don't have any money. I would say I spend around 250/month on green fees and range balls.

Membership is $240/month, $190 annual range plan. In the summer, I'll play a different course once a month, figure $70 average. I probably average $50/month on golf clubs/balls/gloves/etc just to put a number on it.

I don’t keep a personal budget so my numbers maybe low, it is virtually impossible to remember everything you buy. There are sometimes in life you just don’t want to know what you are spending!!

Membership, carts, trips, basic golf shop purchases of balls gloves clubs etc. 1,500.00 per month. Food and drinks maybe another 250 or so per month.

If you are spending $250 a month on golf then the statement that you don't have any money would be false

I just buy a membership at the beginning of the year for $650. After that I don't buy very much. I live near a course so I search the woods every night for balls and then wash them up and sell them to get my balls and tees. I don't go to the range because I have one in my backyard which saves alot. Other than an occasional club or playing other courses I don't spend very much. I would say I spend no more than $900 a year which would be about $80 a month.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

Not having any money is relative to many things. I work in oil and gas and my pay has been cut about 35% in the last 18 months. I still spend $400-$500 a month on green fees and around $50 each month on misc equip. I feel as though I have no money right now either. The truth is I know i have a good buffer and extra $ compared to some but I also have kept my lifestyle geared to sudden drops in pay due to the nature of my job but compared to where I was it sure does not feel that way.

My only problem with golf is that I am usually standing too close to the ball............ after I hit it.

Anyone who has $250 dollars to spend on golf each month has money to spend. Because any money that goes towards golf should be disposable income that comes after bills, food, shelter and the necessities. So the op must have at least $250 dollars each month of extra money. 250 > none, or at least it was when I was in school

$200 monthly, that is what I budget.....it's my primary sport and sees most of my discretionary $$$$......I try to play cheaper courses during twilight.....love to play, just don't have the dollars to dish out like I used to.....

I wish I had been as "broke" as you are while I was in school. I spend less $ than that on golf each month, and I'm a CC member.
