Really nice to see Duval play well today, I hope he can have a solid round tomorrow.

DID NOT need my son to see Sergio throw his club into the woods...

Cheers, Allan

True, but it was funny to watch him act like the bitch we all know he is, LOL

Damn rain , well at least we get to see Sergio throw his club into the woods again while we wait for round 2, woooo hoooo HAHAHAHA

Sergio just plays dumb golf.....mix that in with a currently erratic swing and poor temperment and what do you have?

Sergio Garcia, (El Niño), even though he’s a spoiled brat, I still like him. His life style is just what I would do if I was in his shoes at his age. Why not, we only go around once, this is not a dress rehearsal. Throwing clubs into the woods is done by us all at one time or another, but how about spitting into the cup…….

Quote from an article:
Sergio is one of the best drivers in the world. He normally works the ball from right to left with amazing control. Even on tight courses, he isn’t afraid to hit woods off the tee. This is partly why his performance in majors, where fairways are skinnier and the rough unforgiving, can run so hot and cold. The areas he needs to work on are his iron play and putting.
Sergio is an emotional athlete. He has, however, learned to channel his anger, his excitement, and his adrenaline in positive ways, and obviously he adores the pressure of the big stage. Sergio’s temper is his Achilles heel, but he is learning to downshift when it begins to affect his game. He’ll never be a robotic golfer, though, for in the end it is emotion that fuels his game.
Another problem Sergio has, and I wish we had the same, is the ladys. He’s been known to tell his caddy to go over to some chick in the crowd and tell her to meet him in the bar at a certain time.

I used to have a temper when I was a kid, still do now, 50 years later. I’ve still thrown a club, just recently. Basically, it’s because I know I can hit the ball better and don’t. Case closed.
Well see what happens after this rain. It seems 8 out my ten will make the cut. I’d love to see Duval play well, he needs it and would be great for him to win.

I'm still amazed over his distances. He's 180 yards from the hole and pulls out an 8 iron, but too often hits a poor shot and ends up mad at himself.

The poor lad will be scarred for life. The memory of this incident will haunt him forever and make him a bad sport. And there is nothing you can do to avoid it. But....on the other hand....why not just say "See how stupid he looks now?" That's why you don't throw clubs.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

haha... yup, pretty much what I said. But I'm watching the 3rd round coverage on the Golf Channel tonight, and all they are showing is Sergio... aren't there any other players on the course, I don't want to watch or have my son watching his crappy swing and his on course antics... time to change the channel I guess

Cheers, Allan

Anyone else notice that Steve Wheatcroft dropped out of the hazard on the 17th at the wrong spot? His ball hit the bank inside the hazard and then kicked in the water but he played it as if it hit outside the hazard and bounced in. The commentators said the officials were reviewing the shot but I guess they eventually ruled it landed outside the haz and bounced in even though it was clear on my TV that he was no where near landing outside the haz. It's a moot point because he missed the cut, but I was just curious it anyone else saw it.

The funny thing was I was explaining the rule of a lateral hazard to my wife while watching this shot and that is how I noticed it.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.

P.S. Jeff Overton, please never pop your collar on a golf course again.

awesome shot from Bohn to finish it under a slight bit of pressure, great reaction to the win as well

Near the start of round four a banner towing airplane started circling the course. It started with "Score like Tiger" and then had a web site. All of the pros teeing off on #1 were laughing about it. It's sad that Tiger scoring is now associated with something else.

It's a shame bohn has had to battle some injuries over the past few years. I think he would have had a much better tour career if he didn't have the wrist problem. He definitely has a lot of game and if I'm not mistaken he shot a 58 or 59 to win a canadian tour event years ago. Plus the story about him hitting the hole in one to win a million dollars was a pretty cool.

Well until his tally of majors gets back ahead of his tally of affairs then I'm afraid that's gonna be the case

It's his own fault, and if I was tee'ing off on Tea Olive and saw that, I'd lmfao too

    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.
    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
