How to chose golf gloves

No handicap limit, get the one you like best. What might differ a higher handicap from a lower is how fast you wear out a glove. With an incorrect grip, grip shifting in the hands through the swing etc. you might wear it out faster than a better player. If you then play with expensive gloves, it will be more costly than using a cheaper glove. Go to your local store, try on different ones and pick one you like. You can try a new one the next time if you want to. A good fit is important, the glove must not be loose, but tight and nice. What size you need may vary with different brands.

I usually just buy whats on sale. My local walmart never fails to have some kind of glove for 5$.

Usually whatever feels best to you is the way to go. Im not aware of any gloves that are designed for high-handicappers. Personally, Im fond of the Mizuno Retroflex. For me, they fit my hand really well and last a long time. Theres lots of great gloves on the market though and you wont know whats best for you until your try them all on and experiment with them.

I picked up one last year and love the fit. There is nothing magical about it, but I found one the fits snug and still allows my fingers to flex easy.

My best fit is usually cadet medium, or on occasion regular.

When gloves go on sale somewhere, I look for a brand that fits and then buy a half-dozen. I have enough gloves that fit well for probably two seasons.

Also, I rotate two or three during a round, depending on how hot it is.

Wal-Mart usually has Wilson or Athletic Works gloves for five bucks. Just get the right size, you don't want a lot of slack in your fingers.

It's a glove, so your hands don't slip, as long as it's comfortable it's good.

I played bare-handed for a long time. Then last year my hands got torn up doing some work so I decided to wear a glove and I haven't stopped. I bought a Mizuno glove and it lasted a LONG time. You can buy a cheap glove but if you go through it in no time there's no savings in it. Buy quality.

If you're burning through gloves because you have a poor grip then it doesn't matter how much you pay for them. I hit balls almost everyday, and they last me months.

Or this is my first year really playing the game and I've had two lessons.

I don't know my handicap, you can't leave it blank so I put something. If I change it to 9 on the Internet does that automatically make me better than you? How about if I change it to 100, does that make you feel more secure with yourself?

It's somewhat relevant. When it comes to glove performance though, I'd definitely take the word of an avid 40 handicapper. A ton of balls hit away from the centre of the clubface is bound to be murder on a glove - I'd say pack bandaids for the other hand too - and some Advil.
