You heard it right, she said d!ck.

Holy effin' shit! Seriously?! I was just jokin' and didn't have the Golf Channel on. I just thought, with Tiger's recent problems, it was a funny play on words. I want to know what time this aired because I think I just foresaw history.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.

Yeah, it is pretty amazing that some are ready to write him off already. It kinda blows my mind. Knowing how much of a competitor Tiger is, and how vindictive he can be, I'd find it hard to believe he doesn't turn it all around at some point. Not sure when that will be, as he's got a lot to deal with right now between his injuries and his personal stuff, but I just cant see him not doing whatever it takes to get it rolling again. Whether that involves a new coach, extensive treatment on his neck, I dont know, but someone like him does whatever they gotta do.

Go

No, the reason people are saying the things they're saying is because after 14 or so years, they finally have something they can dog him out for and have no repercussion whatsoever. The people that hated him for all these years never could speak out against him because he just kept winning. Now, they're jumping on like rabid dogs. I'm not exactly trying to victimize a billionaire, but you're referencing a crusty, 92 yr old dude that thinks maybe if he words his incoherent ramblings like Faulkner or Hemingway's drunk asses, people will think that his opinions must be noble and right. Sorry, but in the end, results are what matters. And in my mind, Tiger's results from the last 15 years up to this point have been pretty amazing.

Olkev, none of that is directed towards you by any means, it just gets old seeing all of these hypocritical people take this opportunity to get on their soapbox, and sometimes I gotta vent.

I'm sure professional golfers have played in more pain. Tiger won a US Open, if I recall, with a torn ACL and fractures in his knee. He wanted to pack it up, hide for a while, work on his personal life and golf swing.

I've had the cervical disk herniations -- from other accidents and mishaps. It's kept me off the course for months at a time. Had an MRI, saw a nerve specialist, had an EMG done. Not fun. Electrical acupuncture helped me avoid surgery, thus far. But the flare ups vary in severity. I walked into a broken tree limb last time out looking for my ball, and re-injured it. I expect it'll take a few weeks for the inflammation to die down to where it's playable again, but it really can mess with your swing. I feel bad for the guy: he's a pro and in the long run, this could really derail the course he was on to win all those majors. In my case it's not exactly a thing that has gone away completely. And the golf swing can aggravate it. That's why I now put a premium on swinging slow and easy. For me, it flares up now and then, and it ranges from unplayable/fugeddaboudit I'm not playing to, playable in pain, to OK.

!!!Well stated, ControlJunkie!!!

for all those people out there saying tiger's done, etc. blah blah... will never beat jack, blah blah blah. you're all nuts, within a year, tiger will be dominating the tour even more than in 2000. we haven't seen a 100% healthy tiger in quite a while. if and once we do, 2000 will seem pedestrian.

When Jack slumped for a long time back in the late 70's, the press was having a hayday with him being finished. Trevino told everyone that it is best to let a sleeping bear lie. Trevino was right. Same goes for Tiger...... he will take some time to lick his wounds both mentally and physically.
He's not finished by a long shot.

I do not think Tiger will dominate like before though. I dont think the other players fear him like they did a few years ago.

I dont think the players "feared" him. Sure Tiger was statistically impressive in the majors when leading after 54 holes, but he was beat more than he won so obviously players were not that scared of him. Its golf, not the UFC. Once he gets his head back and swing he will be fine. Its really funny to hear everyone think that Tiger is done because of all this.

Too many people are jumping to melodramatic conclusions about tiger. Tiger is only 33 or 34. To say he is done at this point is kinda foolish. Over the long term, winners win. Its not about head states or swing mechanics or whatever. Im sure he will still have 20+ majors and 100 wins by the time he is in his mid 40's.

+1 Hoosier. Why any one would think Tiger will be dominating more than he did in 2000 is beyond me.

Jack Nicklaus won 18 PGA Tour tournaments, including 6 majors from age 35 to 46, so Tiger still got years to make it on. His biggest challenge is his swing and perhaps health. Of course he is going through a rough period now, which affect him mentally, but with each day, it will fade off. Getting his first win will give him lots of confidence.

Anyone else remember the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode about the only two ways to hurt your neck? "One of them is a car wreck, and the other............."

You can fill in the blank if you saw it.

It doesn't matter whether other players fear him or not. At 44 years old, not many players feared Nolan Ryan like they once did. That didn't stop him from beating Robin Ventura's ass or throwing his 7th no hitter.

Lmao that was hilarious.

ya the media has turned on him hard. Even Brandle seemed pissed. IMO I have little respect for the media nowadays myself so I dont blame Tiger for telling them every little bit about his life. They were whining about him not telling them about his injuries blah blah blah. Honestly most of the people who work in media nowadays are just vultures and simply look for headlines. There are very few real journalists left with any integrity.
