How many guys out there play golf with the Mrs. I know personally its good to spend time apart, and going to the golf course with my buddies is a great way to relax and talk crap for a couple hours.

She came with me once, rode along because we knew no one was on the course and she wanted to see what I'm always out doing. That was about it. Driving range wasn't very fun for her so it all ended there.

My husband and I used to play together, before we stopped playing. He was my favorite playing partner. I'm just now getting back into golf, so I don't know if he's going to start playing again or not. I hope he does.

We are learning together. At first she had zero interest due to a bad experience at the range with a boyfriend in highschool, she got past that and is loving it.

Our club does a couple scramble every other week have to use 3 drives from both, set handicap first week. Fun time.

Sure it's good to spend time apart (not like she's always out there with me), but most folks between work, seperate hobbies, etc etc don't seem to spend a whole lot of time with the S.O. anyways so I always enjoy when we can find something in common to do together. And you get to spend more money on your hobby when the spouse is involved and "understands" what it's for.

My wife does not play, but with her being Korean, I would expect her to be pretty good once she decided to learn.

Once the kids are older, she says she would like to learn to play... considering she's my best friend I would love to have her as a playing partner (but not all the time)

Cheers, Allan

My Girlfriend just got some clubs and is going to try to learn the game. She is already a great putter and chipper. I'm really looking forward to spending more time with her...

Since I'm filipino, I guess I should be a good caddy? Anyways, my wife plays, and she's pretty good. We took lessons together, and we played together quite a bit last year. She's my best friend so I enjoy the time I get to play with her. Of course, it's fun to play with the buddies too.

Why are ilipinos good caddies?
Since I'm half Thai will I be the next Tiger?

Don't have a misses but nothing is cooler than a hot chick playing golf and nothing is un-cooler than losing to them.

Not yet, but she's threatening to learn. Mentioned the old adage that men play golf mainly to get away from their wives, and she laughed like I was joking.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

After six years together, I've finally gotten her into the game & we really enjoy it. Although she has no desire to join a women's league or play by herself, she fully understands and supports my need for "alone time" with the game. With a 3 & 5 yr old at home, our time is limited, so I play Saturday mornings & then she and the boys join me for another four holes after my round. We'll usually do four holes on Sunday afternoon as well--works out great! -LBB

No, but it would be fun if she did. Getting the kids to come out and play has been easier; one of the boys already plays with me on the local Par-3 course.

She loves it almost as much as I. We try to play every weekend, 36 holes per weekend for the last 5 weeks. 54 holes Memorial Day weekend.

My wife is just getting started. She has a new starter set and 3 lessons to go to.
I'm starting her out on a short 9 hole course. I'll take her on a regulation course after she's had her lessons and I'm sure she can keep up.

My girlfriend started playing about a year ago she doesn't get to play to often but she does make very solid contact when she plays. She just picked up a lady burner yesterday and can't wait to use it.

Sure do! Her dad taught her in her teens and she's been doing it ever since. She's in her own golf league also.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
