I have my money on Spain, my ancestry homeland (along with Germany, England, Portugal), but I always go for La Furia Roja! I bet my friend a box of Penta's when Spain wins and he wanted Pro V1x's but I will be getting more balls regardless haha..

To be fair, the Dutch were the whinier of the two teams today. Too many stupid fouls. Too much whining to the refs while the ball was still in play. Too little smart soccer being played. I wanted Netherlands to take this one, but Spain put on real pressure and didn't foul as much.

Not a terribly impressive match today, but the better team did win the game.

I didn't really have a preference in this as far as ancestors go, so I was intending to just watch some awesome soccer. Unfortunately I had to work today. Awesome. Looks like I missed a great game.

On a side note I went to a New England Revolution vs. Los Angeles Galaxy game yesterday. I had been wanting to go to one for a long time (I played a lot of soccer as a kid), and I figured this would be a good time, I could see Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle as they got back from the World Cup. Buddle played, but Donnovan didn't. That was too bad but it was a great game, and the Revs won 2-0. Should have been 3-0, but the refs disallowed an early goal.

I would argue you didn't miss that great of a game. The dutch fouled like crazy, the spanish flopped semi-like crazy, a helluva lot of yellow cards (almost all deservidly given out), Robben blowing two chances but screaming at the ref for not calling a non-existent foul (subsequently carded for dissent). And Spain scoring with 7 minutes left until PK shootout. All I can say is thank freakin god it did not go to a shootout cuz there's nothing I hate more than the WC final coming down to 100% luck, Spain were the better team, as someone else said, Holland just whined....a lot rather than putting up and scoring 1.

non-existent foul? puyol was climbing all over him! the spanish were atrocious, they looked like a bunch of didier drogba's out there on the field. no integrity, whatsoever. there were maybe three deserved cards given to the dutch, neither of which heitinger received were warranted.

Yes. That octopus can go suck my wooden shoes.

Very good!! Way too many blatant fouls in the final game, I wanted the Dutch to win this one but Spain played better, they have the ability to shut down a pretty powerful offensive team. I guess I have to wait another 4 years to see a better outcome.

Yea, the Spanish we not diving around as much as people think.. It was pretty even but as far as blatant fouls, the DUTCH proved to win that category. I don't know how many times they got away with stupid barbaric fouls.. Like kicking Xabi Alonso in the CHEST!? What is that? Also when Van Bommel took out Ineista with a slide tackle only getting his whole leg behind Ineista... Dutch deserved to lose playing the way they did, they let their emotion get the best of them..

The dutch were the more creative and dynamic team overall, and i was rooting for them to win. Spain was just good enough. One of the ugliest WC matches ive ever watched, though.

I'd like to follow the upcoming English Premiere League season - anyone know it you can watch it via internet streaming in the US? I'm guessing ESPN3 might stream it?

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
