How often do you hear someone say I could care less? Really? So if you could care less, why are you telling me? Its I couldnt care less. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

All good points. However no one mentioned the guy in the group in front of you who is waiting for the green to clear when he needs to carry the ball 250 yards and he hasn't hit a ball that far all day including has tee shot. When he finally does play his shot he tops it.

but can anyone honestly say they've never been THAT GUY?

My current peeve is only pseudo golf related. It's people on golf discussion forums adding random apostrophes to every word that ends in the letter "s". The apostrophe is possessive. It's "Trees", not "Tree's". "Irons", not "Iron's". "Blades", not "Blade's". Call me a grammar nazi or whatever you want, but it's embarrassing to me as an English speaker, and it makes it hard for me to take someone seriously.

I am not quite sure what you are talking about. I know what an apostrophe is.

The apostrophe is possessive.

Except when it's used in a contraction, like it's (it is) or that's (that is).

Yeah-I didn't(*) want to conduct a full scale grammar lesson, but you're(*) absolutely right.

The apostrophe is possessive - even look at his stuff and he'll bite you!!

Regarding grammar on the internet, I could probably care less. If I cared a bit less, I wouldn't feel the urge to comment.

People who track sand all over the green after a bunker shot. Just knock that off your spikes already! I don't want to have to putt through your sandy footprints.

I don't like it when someone hits into you.

I hit into some guys on a par-5 last month. I put my ball on the tee and was talking to my partner then just walked up to my ball and hit it flush and sent it about 290 yards. I just lost my train of thought i guess. My partner said "YOU JUST HIT INTO THOSY GUYS!!" I'm 50 years old and they were in their 30s so I was hoping I wasn't going to get a beat down.
I drove straight to them and apologized.

I did that earlier this year, and felt like an a**. I knew it was a short par 4, and they were on the green. I asked my friend to tell me the distance from the card and he said "360". I murdered my drive and saw the ball bounce up onto the green and I was mortified. I grabbed the card and saw that my friend read the wrong hole, it was only 305 or 310. I also drove straight up and apologized.

Man, I just took up golf but I've been reading so many threads where it seems folks do things specifically designed to provoke a physical confrontation, possibly hurt someone else, or just generally act like high school kids that I am feeling like this was the wrong sport to hope to find relaxation, fun, and commeradie doing!

Then join a Ladies Bridge Club. :)

That happened to me too. It was a 300 yard (slight dogleg, so not measured straight to the green) hole and I flew it onto the green and missed a guy by mere feet. I was maybe more mad at myself than he was at me.

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.
