Yep... I'm one of those many whose swing feels like it looks perfect, then when I get it on tape it makes me want to throw up. Slowed it down a little bit to get a better view.

Please note my sophisticated choice of golf attire.

Since your swing looks 1/2 decent in that getup (Dumbledore's trousers and Scotty Pippen's shirt) then it probably is perfect. Well done!!

Not much to say. It is a good swing. Terrible outfit. And interesting choice of driving range.

Only thing I see that is worth working on is keeping your head still and staying centered over the ball.

You have a nice swing. Only thing I see is your front arm flexes a bit on the backswing and you might be able to use some more wrist cock.

I figure if I don't go in film the second I think about it, I'm going to forget!

My outfit is the best part. I look like I belong on the cover of GQ.

Head still and arm straight. Noted. Thanks!

the only thing i can see that you could change is not turning your hands open in the takeaway, which could lead to timing issues. but other than that looks really good.

btw, your head and arm are fine. you're never going to completely keep your head static, just try not to move it back and forth. and your arm isn't bending enough to matter, just look at freddie couples' swing.

Turning my hands open on the takeaway... Could you explain that a little more? If I'm on the same page with what you're saying, I think that might just be on to something.

Given your HI vs. mine....I'm probably not qualified to rate your swing....

One question, are you standing on a slope or is the camera not level? It looks like the ball is below your feet.

FWIW, I think your swing looks fine to me!

Both actually. My yard slopes towards the right [relatively] and my camera fits crooked on the tripod. :P

in your backswing, you're fanning open your hands, which can lead to you being laid off, flipping at the bottom, etc.

I'd like some more opinons on this swing... I'm not even sure if it still looks like this though.

I agree, what's not to like?  The comment from senorchipolte is correct:  you fan open your hands going back.  Hey, it's not modern, but Hogan did it.  It can stop a hook, if that's a problem for you.  You are really just missing details.  For example, you swing back well, but you do not wind up.  Figure out how to torque your torso (excuse the alliteration) like a rubber band.  One reason is that you let your weight fall on the outside of the right foot (note that I did not say sway).  Keep the weight on the inside of the right foot.   On the downswing, you hit down well, but you do not drive the club head thru - it's like you think there is nothing left to do once you make contact.  So you are a swinger, not a hitter.  If you want to be come the latter - and I am not sure your should - start lifting weights.

post another and include a side view. And let me know when the clothing line will be available for ordering.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
