Doesn't John Daly have a lawsuit going against someone (or the course) where there was a camera shutter cycled during his swing and he injured himself?

His lawsuit is actually against a children's charity.

Knew it was someone. Didn't realize someone jumped in front of him.

I think Earl used to purposefully try and distract Tiger on his back swing growing up. Tiger is the only golfer I know who can get a couple feet away form hitting the ball and just stop if something distracts him. I guess Earl did a good job in that respect.

I've had distractions, but only people talking while I swing, which isn;t enough to distract me. Now, a locomotive horn? Or a tranny? I would snap hook it for sure

i just played in a scramble on a really nice course, while in my backswing a lady lets her two german shepards outside which proceed to come after us like they are going to jump the fence and maul us, which was probably like 5 feet away.

So far, everyone's comment seems to be being distracted during the backswing (not during the downswing). Why not just stop your shot? Over the past few months I've been getting very good at backing away before the swing or during the swing if I'm distracted. Definitely something to work on. And so far I haven't hit a bad one after backing off just before.

Despite being a general rules nut, I have no problem in a casual round if something like this happens. Start warning the fellow who is doing this, though.

Yep, no relief. Unless breaking your driver over the offender's skull is "relief" to you.

The worst injustice in the rules is that, when you do this, the driver doesn't count as being damaged in the course of play, and thus you cannot replace it during the stipulated round.

I heard stories of a transvestite hanging out just outside the fence of my golf course and putting on a "show". I can tune out most distractions, but one day, there she, err he, was. The group ahead of me had pulled their carts over to the fence and were watching. I was so creep'd out, I bladed my second over the green, chunked 2 pitches, picked up my ball and went on. Skulled my next tee shot and just grabbed my ball and walked in. Some distractions are just too much.

Thank you Colin. Who the hell watches Tranny shows anyway? And where the hell are you playing? I'd line up a tee shot right at shim. And probably end up in the middle of the fairway.
I have a friend who cant shut up EVER. Teeing off putting etc.. I've had other people walk away from him to get him to stop talking and he just raises his voice until we all just stop and look at him and he gets it. For half a hole anyway..
