I need to vent a little, and dont really have any family to talk to about this. My wife and I have a beautiful 3 year old girl. She is my heart and soul. We have been trying for another baby for about a year. Well, we have had three miscarriages. My wife is in our home own in South GA visiting our family. We just found out about a month ago that she was pregnant again. She calls me today crying her eyes out and tells me she is on the way to the hospital after seeing her doctor. The baby never left her tubes and dropped into her uterus. It grew until it busted her ovary tube and now she is in surgery while I am 600 miles away. I feel so helpless right now. I dont know what I am looking for in writing this, I just needed to get it out. If you believe in God, please pray for her. Each miscarriage has taken a piece of her heart with it, and I am worried about her mentally. It hurts me too, each time it has hurt. I feel blessed to have such a strong wife and a loving little girl. I just know that she is tired of the heartbreak. Her eyes dont shine like they used to. I dont know what to do to make any of this better. It breaks my heart to know think about the pain she is in. She blames herself. What do I do? I am lost. Please pray for us.

Im sorry to hear about your situation. God has a plan.

Maybe some people think this corny or whatever and I'm no jesus freak but I believe in it wholeheartedly. God will never deliver something you can't handle. It all sucks. I'm sure it does. My sister lost a baby at 8 months in and that really sucked. It's hard to see. But ya know what? Maybe she's a little more grateful for the 3 healthy kids she has now and her and her husband have one of the strongest relationships I've ever seen first hand and their kids have great parents.
I bet you and your wife are ten times closer and stronger and 10 times more in love and grateful than people with "perfect" lives.
Not that you needed another challenge.
When my nephew was diagnosed with diabetes my sister was really really upset but I have to look at it as a blessing. I'm just glad someone with the additional needs he has went to someone so responsible and caring. And HE's stronger for it now too.
I'll say a prayer for you and your wife too. She could sure use someone to talk to professionally about this as well I'm thinking.

Thanks for sharing. Your family will be in my prayers today. Although you are away, I think your wife is lucky to have such a supportive husband. Just continue to remind her you're there for her and you're in this together.

My wife and I just lost our pregnancy at around 2 months and it was to be our first. My wife blamed her self as well and I searched for a way to help her as well. I am not a holy roller, but I do believe in a higher power that controls and guides us through this thing called life. I will pray for you and hope that you, your wife, and your little girl get through this and I know you will. I know that it is hard and it was for us but this WILL make you and your family stronger.

My wife is home and doing good. We found out about some other issues with her health and are now dealing with them. It is doubtful that we will ever have children again, but we are actively seeking to adopt. Something bad happened, but I know good will come out of it. I appreciate everyone's kind words and prayers. If I am ever in your area, we can play a round on me. Thanks again! You guys are great!

I just wanted to say this thread made me proud to be a member of this golfing community.

It also made my day.

I am on vacation with my wife and baby and with my brother and his family. My brother and his wife tried for ten years to have a child and, after several miscarriages she finally carried a daughter to term. They went to try again and for years tried and tried and could not make it happen, even after countless injections, procedures, and an untold amount of money. Finally, they decided to adopt and after some bureaucracy and waiting, the brought home a undersized little 2 year old from Russia.

Today that little girl, my niece, is a healthy, happy, rambunctious five year old who loves her mommy and daddy and sister. They are a really happy family and all the pain of past trying to have another child is really forgotten.

I am glad to hear that your wife is better, and getting better, and encourage you to continue to consider adoption - it made my brother, his wife, their (other) child, his in-laws, and ME all very happy.

Continued health and happiness to you and yours.

I'm relieved that your wife is ok, but sorry to hear of your troubles and losses. However, it is wonderful that you are looking to adopt: you can turn your hardship into a gift that will forever change the life of a child who might otherwise suffer. I wish you the best.

My mom was adopted when she was 16. She "never had a chance." She's become very successful - has been in many press releases - and loves "daddy" every day, even though she didn't know her own.

She was brought over from Germany with her parents when she was 6 and in a children's home by 7. Adoption allows you to touch someone's life - and it will certainly touch your own.

Best of wishes to you, God has a plan.

    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
    • Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.
