How much do you use each club in your bag? I'll start:

Putter <- Most frequently used
58° LW
Driver
54° SW
4-hybrid
7i
GW, PW, 9i, 8i <- Use these four about equally often
6i
5w <- I rarely use these last 3, and when I do I probably shouldn't have
5i
3w

I don't actually track stats on these, this is just my estimate. Just curious if it lines up very closely with others.

Probably something like:
putter [every hole]
52 degree wedge [almost every hole]
driver [most full tee shots]
4I [many approaches, a few tee shots]
9I
PW
[everything else]

It's sort of a toss-up between the driver and the 4-iron. On most courses, the driver for sure, but on my home course I have found I am better off teeing off with my 4-iron on a few of the par-4s since they're short--290 to 330 yards from the longest tees--so I leave myself a nice short iron approach. Other irons are on an as-needed basis. I tend to gravitate to the 7 iron, but it really doesn't come up that often during my usual rounds. There just aren't many 140-150 yard shots on that course.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW

Typical hole for me goes something like this from tee to green: Driver, 7I, one of four wedges, putter. Other irons I use but not as often are 6, 8, and 9. I rarely hit my 5 and have never even pulled the 3I or 4I out of my bag on the course. So to answer your question I probably hit my 7I, or a wedge most often.

putter: every hole
60*: maybe once or twice a round
56*: most wedge or chip shots
PW-6i: Most approach shots for me
5i-4i: not too often used...tee off on long par 3's and long approach shots
5w: par 5 approach shots or tee off on short par 4's.
3w: I tee off with 3 wood quite often on narrow par 4's that are less than 400 yards. Appraoch shots are par 5's to get it on the green.
driver: Tee off on most holes with driver unless the fariway is narrow or if there is a strong dogleg that looks difficult to hit.

Putter - Every hole, obviously
52* - Basically every hole, I've kept stats on what club I approach the green with on my last 3 games, and about 90% of the time it's my 52*
5i - I'm a short hitter so I pull it on most par-4s, all par5s, and I usually tee off with it on par-3s.
Driver - Every non par-3 hole, so about 14 holes
7i, 9i
PW
60* - Only for special shots that need to get high and/or not roll, usually once or twice a round.
SW - Prefer my GW and LW when not in the sand, and I rarely find the sand, so this almost never gets pulled

Just got new hybrids, so I'll see if I can replace some of my 5i with my hybrids.

    • I know it is probably dependent on a lot of factors, but how windy does it have to be out before you need to start guessing on how much it would influence the break of your putt?  When I played at Bandon, it was like 25-30 mph winds. The caddies talked about the wind negating break. The only time I had it visually influence my putt was on hole 18 at Bandon Dunes. My missed my putt on the high side of a pretty severe breaking putt. The slope around the hole was in the 2-3 degree range. As the ball was about to come to a stop, the wind gusted and pushed the ball half a rotation into the cup.  The rest of the week I thought it had no influence at all. I was thinking, is it just over thinking to try to account for the wind?
    • Day 310 - 2025-08-06 Went downtown in the late afternoon and got nearly two hours of work in. Not a ton of breaks. Was blasting the TS at the end, from a HomePod and two TVs. 😄
    • I watched this video of his last night: I don't hate him like @boogielicious apparently does and thought this was a pretty good premise so I gave it a shot.  Not the worst thing in the world and I especially liked the premise.  He's got a lot of air to fill by himself, which he isn't great at, but in doing so, you get some decent insight into how his brain works while setting up shots/putts.
    • So driver is longer than all the other clubs and gear effect plays a bigger part with driver than anything else. If you're hitting it out of the heel it could slice even if you have the face square. Could try some foot spray or impact tape and check that. Other thing is if the shaft is different in how it flexes or how flexible it is it could be affecting your swing somewhat. Driver also has the straightest face, so while with a 4 iron it might fade, with driver that can wind up being a slice with the same face angle at impact.
    • Yeah I have taken lessons. I also got clubs fitted in like 2011 ish. My driver and wedges aren't from that set though.    1. I'm just not sure why I can't seem to get the face back to square. I don't have that problem with my other clubs. Sure the longer ones a miss tends to be a slice, but I don't need to make a grip change to only sometimes hit the ball reasonably straight.   2. I think there is a bit of inaccuracy there. The number I have in my head is like 195 for my 5 iron. 4 iron also definitely has more variance than all my other irons, but 210ish is about right for non mishits.
