Good luck, you've done a great job so far with only 5 months a year available out on the course. I just started playing again last year in Buffalo, so I've only spent one winter waiting for spring and golf. I went to the indoor range a couple times, and went to Froghair (restaurant with 8 simulators just outside Buffalo) a couple times as well. Now I've got the weather for 12 month/year golf, but the money is definitely a different story.

thx duder

Here in DFW, I play golf year round, but most probably take January and February off. I get the itch to play if I haven't swung a club in 3 weeks. If it's cold/windy in DFW, I can drive 200 miles south to Austin, which might have a freeze once every four years.

No I don't ever get bored. Sometimes it is a little hot in area so recommend early tee times June-September. Can also be expensive in the Winter at the high end course.

i couldn't imagine. you won't find me out on the course under 60*s. i couldn't imagine playing in 30 something degree weather. no way. i don't get bored, either. but of course this year i didn't play as much golf as i normally do. pretty sure it's safe to say i will never be moving north of the mason-dixon.

I am thinking that I shall love every minute of it.

I moved here in May (from Denver to AZ) specifically so that I can golf year-round. In Denver most of the courses stay open all year, but snow does fall and stick around for a couple of days at a time - so there is the promise to play every day provided it’s not too cold and there’s no snow on the ground.

But here in the land of cactus-milk and honey it’s golf 365. The only problem with which we shall have to contend come early fall is over-seeding (from Bermuda to rye).

And I shall endeavor to keep my complaints to a minimum while the rest of you are scraping windshields and shoveling driveways.

I love it but I usually take 2-3 months off (usually Dec-Feb). Snowboarding season takes up a lot of my free time then. I still go to the range, though, to keep the feeling. By March, I am chomping at the bit to get out.

What's funny is my wife doesn't care about snowboarding, she comes with me a lot, but frowns at golf. Yet snowboarding is significantly more expensive. Gotta love em :)

i love playing through the winter. the courses are empty for the most part. last year we had two months straight with snow on the ground so we couldn't play but the year before i played all winter. as long as its above freezing and the wind is blowing bad i'm game.

I grew up in San Diego, and never, ever thought I'd golf in ridiculously cold weather. Then I got the golf bug in Buffalo, and found myself teeing of earlier this year (late March I think) at 28 degrees F.

I have an extreme intolerance for cold weather. No, really; in Los Angeles, I get cold in winter, even with long pants and a sweater. I will be graduating university in just under a year, and when I look for jobs, I do use the "how many days of the year will I be able to play golf?" as a proxy for the weather. Needless to say, my top choices for jobs are in California, Arizona, and Florida.

I don't really get bored of playing golf as often as I can. Then again, I'm not playing 4-5 days/week.

I've lived my whole life in California, albeit in different parts of it. The idea that sports have seasons is weird to me. Maybe that's why I love golf so much.

I grew up in the UK and moved to Florida six years ago. I play on average 2-3 times a week, I just had a golfing vacation in AZ two weeks ago, including the two days I played before I left, I played nine rounds in twelve days, to be honest I am golfed out at the moment and have only played once this week with my daughter.
I have played 86 rounds this year so far, I usually get in 120+, I don't think I will ever get bored with it.

I think it would be nice to have golfing weather for all months except for december. In december I would like snow. Someone tell me of such a place. Image just having winter (30 degree temp) for only a month and then heating up. That would be sweet

Do you need snow at your house, or just at an easily accessible location? If the latter, Palm Springs in CA has easy access to snow in December, but you can easily play golf year round.

That's funny for me because its allways so nice here I never even thought about the people who have to take a big break from golf. Were lucky if it snows and really sticks.Thinking about it more I'd say that it's totally awesome ,but I've only been golfing for just less then a year maybe and so golf in my mind could never get boring.
