3-3 on the year so far. Just hoping to stay at .500 this week and the hope I can pick up some wins later in the season.

Week 2 picks:

Saints vs. 49er's (Monday) - Saints giving 6, I expect that they'll cover to make up for their relatively lackluster performance in week one vs. the Vikings and the 9er's near implosion Saints -6

Texans and Redskins - Texans giving 3. Washington is getting credit for beating Dallas but I think that was more an issue with the Cowboys than anything else. Texans -3

Patriots vs. Jets - the bookies must know something because Brady and crew are only giving 3 in the opening lines. Maybe they're counting on a Jets team that's too hungry to lose at a new home twice in a row, or maybe they're thinking the Jets D will hold solid and Sanchez will find solid footing. Regardless, after watching the Pats destroy Cincinatti last week, you have to go with the favorites. Patriots -3

Giants vs. Colts - Colts are giving 5 to the G-men on the East Coast. I do think Peyton is going to come back strong after a weak opener but again, he rarely covers early in the year. The bookies are expecting a gunslinger's paradise but I think both sides will count on ball control and long possessions. I'm going with the O/U instead of picking a side Under 48

Fade of the week - Green Bay is giving 13.5 to Buffalo in the biggest line of the week. I like Rodgers and all, but 13.5 is a bit steep. If there were a gun to my head, I'd take Buffalo against the line but since there's not, I won't. No play

I like the Texans -3, Redskins won't be able to shut down AJ, and their offense isn't good enough to keep up with the Texans.

I think the 49er's will win against the Saints. Singletary is a tough coach, and these guys had their butts kicked all week. 49er's defense is alot better than they played as well. I wouldn't touch this game.

Patriots vs. Jets. As a Jet fan, I never would bet this game too many emotions to cloud betting judgement. Based on last weeks performance I'd say the Patriots will easily cover the 3 points, but the Jets offense should be better than last week. Jets usually win at home, so it's a bit risky. If I was betting with my head only I'd take the Pats.

Giants vs Colts - I see Eli and Peyton having a shootout which means alot of yards and points. Both teams put up more than enough points to go over (Colts - 24, Giants 31) last week. I'd take the over. I prefer to take the Colts outright, as 5 points is a gift. They should easily win by a TD or 2 FG's.

Jets are going 0-2. The offense sucks. Revis has a aggravated hamstring going up against Moss. Welker will demonstrate how to play short ball. Belichick has his rookie safeties and linebackers tuned in early. Sanchez will be the next Pennington fairly soon. NY could possibly pull it off if they pound the ball on the ground. New England gave up some defensive size for speed, and I think they are vulnerable against a good running team.

49'ers........... no chance in hell.

Giants - Colts : Depends on the Giants getting enough pressure on Payton. If they pressure him....Giants win. Payton sucks when he gets happy feet.

Texans - Skins: If the Texans offense/defense looks like it did last week, Skins loose. McChoke will throw 2-3 interceptions.

As are my Buccaneers. If you'd have told me that they'd be 2-0 after two weeks, I'd have had you committed. Josh Freeman is playing like an NFL quarterback and the defense seems to be playing much better as well.

Ouch! 0-3-1 for the week, bringing my year to 3-6-1. Down 3.6 units. And that, my friends, is why I have a day job.

At least now I have some data to work with. Bring on week 3!

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
