I heard Jim got up and down 8 times out of 8 times from the bunkers and on 18th hit a $10,000,000+ (his wining on the tournament) bunker shot to secure the win.

this is correct

Good for Jim. He's one of my favorite golfers, and seems like a good guy. It's also nice to see that his cell phone battery didn't cost him $10 million. So far Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Jim Furyk have won the Fed Ex Cup. As much as we like to whine about how a lot of "bad" players are in the top 30, those are 3 of the greatest golfers of the past 15 years.

It's great to see Furyk carve a bigger slot for himself in golf history.

It's been a great year for him, and this Championship puts a very large exclamation point on his efforts.

yea I know, he got a good deal on one. He was playing with the Yes! Sophia putter and if you look those up online they are like 140 bucks everywhere. That golf store must of already had them marked down. Too many people are making it sound like he picked up a putter from walmart

You never know :P I've seen him use I think at least 4 or 5 different putters this year. He used to use an Odyssey White Hot Tour #7, a Cameron prototype, another Odyssey blade, w/e his belly putter model was, something else, and this new Yes! putter. I remember sitting there after the 3rd round of the PGA Championship watching him hit 5 footers for like an hour after he had missed like 6 that day which basically took him out of contention. I think it would drive me crazy to practice 5 footers for an hour, but either way I stuck it out and got his autograph lol, now I'm even more glad I did :P

yea well we cant really say he won with a 39 dollar putter because they were selling it for 70 bucks but gave him a huge percent off because he was Jim Furyk in their shop. 70 bucks to me isnt a no name putter, if he had went into walmart and picked up some 20 dollar dunlap putter then I would be impressed.

Yes, he confirmed in his presser that is where he bought it. Listed at $65 - they gave it to him for $39 without any negotiation by him..lol He said it had a ding on the topline and a nick on the flange but it was the only heel shafted model without an alignment line among the 300 in the shop; exactly what he was looking for. cant believe they didnt just give it to him.....

That's pretty much how it works - the only people who have to pay full price are the people who can't afford it.

Yes, correct. I was watching that final bunker shot and I thought it came out pretty hot with some good speed and I was like ohhh no, it's going to go a bit past the hole!!! Then it just checked up. Furyk is a stand up guy by all accounts, and was great to see him grind it out to take it all.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
