ESPN's reporting this:

I'm hearing that the PGA of America is going to the merchandise tent to buy new rainsuits for all players and caddies.

And also they are Sun Mountain rainsuits..

Who's idea was it to play this in Wales?

Weather wouldn't have been this way if the stupid broken fedex cup wasn't taking up the whole of sept, the common slot for the ryder cup

You seem to forget that the "WAR BY THE SHORE" was started in the UK by the tabloids. The americans just reversed the humor and ran with it. Pavin is not the devil that you make him out to be.

Thank-you....but it is better and easier to just blame the ugly americans...don't let the facts get in the way!!

more from ESPN's Jason Sobel...

Just received confirmation that the U.S. team has been given new rainsuits. Straight from the merchadise tent with the 2010 Ryder Cup logo.

That's unbelievable...Why didn't they change them after playing the practice rounds..

Agreed. I guess Pavin and his lieutenants were too busy sweating out those 4 Captain Picks to have time to check to see if the equipment was up to snuff. Not that buying rain gear from a group called Sun Mountain should raise an eyebrow or two. Not to mention they are fugly. Additionally the size of the lettering of the names of the U.S. players on the back is more appropriate for a boxer's warmup gear than golf. To add on to the embarrassment the U.S. bought replacements from a European manufacturer. I wonder what the guy in charge of product design at Sun Mountain will be doing after he updates his resume ... I don't know who made the golf bags but ESPN commented that they were not remotely waterproof either.

Article: NEWPORT, Wales (AP) — The Americans have scrapped their rain suits at the Ryder Cup because they were all wet. PGA of America spokesman Julius Mason said Friday that officials went to the merchandise tent during the rain delay at Celtic Manor and snatched up as many suits as they could find. The rain gear ordered by U.S. captain Corey Pavin was made by Sun Mountain. Mason says team officials were disappointed with how they worked, and bought new ones made by ProQuip. Mason says there were only enough for the players and caddies. The new suits have only a Ryder Cup logo, without any special markings for a U.S. uniform. My 3 Labs always wake me up right to ge pee right about the starting time. LOL

haha I was pulling an all-nighter for a Bio test anyways, so I would've been up regardless.

Sorry about the double post, but did I just here these ESPN commentators right? Did they just say that if they can't get all the matches in by Monday then they just wont finish? I'm confused and a little upset if this is true.

yes...

If the Ryder Cup is still ongoing at 6:43pm, the competition will end and the score will stand as-is. All completed matches count, and any incomplete matches still on the course will be halved. And that has nightmare written all over it.

I apologize for this post but I feel like I need to vent out about Pavin.

The guy has done everything possible to draw attention, much of it in a rather negative way. It all started with the whole captain's picks thing on picking Tiger, man does not know how to watch what he says. Following up, making a point to let everyone know it's possible he won't use him all 5 rounds and Tiger is on his leash. Then picking a kid like Fowler (talented, but not yet a top competitor), just to get people talking about how big of a risk it was. Then he, or his wife, whoever he wants to put that on, picks out these uniforms to look different. Even worse, it's not functional. There are even problems with the bags soaking all their equipment because they are canvas/leather to look like older bags. I feel like it's taken a lot of attention away from what's really important, the players performing.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I apologize for this post but I feel like I need to vent out about Pavin.

Look at Pavin's career highlights - the pornstache, the birthday cake ball caps, the VAS irons with violet (or lavender?) inserts. . . what about him says, "has a good sense of aesthetics and is clearly not colour blind?" Anything?

    • Day 106: did a stack session.
    • Day 292 - Filmed some swings focusing on the same thing (setup, grip, wrist at the top).
    • Day 182 (31 Oct 24) - Shorter session today.  Worked with the 5i - setup, alignment and overall tempo - hitting into the net.
    • Thanks! It actually briefly dropped to 5.8 at some point in July, but it felt like it was too rich for my blood every moment of the whole two weeks I held the 'level' for me to sustain it. The term 'impostor syndrome' comes to mind.. :-)) I have certainly done better than I have in the previous years to stay the course in how and what I have practiced but yes, it's a high probability that I'm leaving a lot on the table.
    • Dang... in the realm of things that probably don't matter all that much, golf slumps are the worst. Yes definitely consult a pro ASAP. Get back to hitting it solid again. Hitting the sweet spot solves a lot of problems. For me it's always the latter. My confidence grows as I hit more and more solid shots, which are the result of continuing to improve my swing thru better concepts, better practice, etc.  Yea, this for sure. And also, without a professional there to let you know you "did it better this time" it can be unnecessarily frustrating and confounding working alone. It's not that you can't work alone; clearly, you can. But during rough patches, it's always smart to consult professionals. Lessons are an amazing place to take new concepts and turn them into feels that you are confident will work. It's still really cool you consider this your best ever season. Congrats on hitting 7.8 this year!
