I decided to try them out and golf in one of the tournaments. Before I made the decision I emailed the TD and asked some general questions about playing with them and about entry fees and things. To make a long story short the TD talked me into all the options and entry fee and new member fee wich was supposed to come with new member things ETC. ETC. and never did recieve anything from them.To this day the tournament results have never been posted and its been over a month now.I sent a long letter to the CEO of this company and the TD trying to get some answers as to what happened and I have not got a reply from anyone. It is my belief that the TD pocketed the money as if I was not even there. The bottom line here is if you want to play amateur tournament golf in the dallas area I would be very careful with these shady people, there are other circuits in the area that are alot more professional.

yeah, i'd honestly only play with someone reputable like the golf channel am tour, or set one up with friends. we had a fledgling league among sandtrappers for a few months here in dallas, perhaps it will start up again next year, who knows. but yeah, when it comes to spending lots of money i'm not just giving mine to some random swinging richard of whom i've never heard.

That sucks man! In my area, the eGolf tour is pretty reputable. It is a national thing so you should feel confident in joining. I have been reading about it in my area and was thinking of joining next year. I watch the website and the results are posted the next week. I don't personally know anyone playing on the tour, but these kinds of incidents make you think twice about joining.

Agreed, the eGolf tournament in Michigan is well run. Sorry to hear the Dallas chapter is having problems.

Is the TD from Dallas? If so, I would personally go find out what's up.

Played in several events last year in the Golf Channel series for Louisville/Southern Indiana and would never play in one again. Way too many issues to list here. Cost to join that tour was $199.00 and each event was roughly $100.00 to play. Won 4 events so no sour grapes over handicaps, etc.

Joined the Lexington eGolf Tour and the start of 2010 and highly recommend this tour. Kasey and his wife Amy are running the real deal for amateur golf in this area. Joined them for $99.00 and that included membership into the senior golf tour as well. Well run events, great trophies and the TD and his wife genuinely care about the players and actually ask for your feedback.

Can't say it works the same way in Dallas but for anyone looking for some competitive golf in the Louisville area this is the tour for you. May be the only option in 2011 as the Golf Channel really struggled to get players in 2010, not sure they can survive after the season they've had.

Never of an eGolf tour. I used to play on the New England PGA tour, that was reputable.

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
