Any NBA fans here?

What are some of your thoughts for the next season coming up?

Just drafted for my fantasy league and am counting down the days until the 26th for the opener! I've got my left eye open on Miami!

Celtics. They lead the league in O'Neals (Shaq, Jermaine), and they're going to widen the all time lead in championships this year. 4 Future HOFers, plus two all-stars in Rondo and Jermaine and a really deep bench.

Definitely going to be a very interesting year. With Lebron moving, the Celtics picking up Shaq, Bosh moving, Kobe's knee. I'm excited to see the season start.

Dear Miami,
There is a reason Eddie House was backing up Rondo in Boston: House isn't a starter.

What a great game. Sadly the Heat Trio didn't live up to the hype. Hope to see some better performance from them.

Miami... don't think they will make to the finals this year. Celtics D is too good.

Steve Blake has already done more for the Lakers than Jordan Farmar. Giddy up!

The Nets will win more games than they did last year hehe.

I'm really excited for the season in general. There's a full slate of games tonight, so that should be pretty fun for me as a fan.

Gotta watch out for my Celtics!

AMEN brother! Celtics raise #18 this year. As a senior in HS I was an intern at the greatest rock station in history- 104 FM WBCN. I worked in the sports dept. with Tank. He sent me to the Gahden (that is the propah phonetic spelling for those not from the Greater Boston area) with a small tape recordah and a list of questions. He didn't tell me who I was going to be asking the questions to. Turned out to be The Legend- Larry Bird, The Chief- Robert Parrish, Kevin McHale, and Reggie Lewis- God rest his soul. Needless to say as a kid that grew up idolizing these guys, it was one of the greatest days in my life. After I asked all of the questions, they invited me to shoot a few with them. I threw up enough bricks to rival the Great Wall of China.

Celtics will win the title. Rest the old guys the first half of the season. Scrape by and get to the playoffs. Then turn the veterans loose. They'll destroy everyone.

They're an All Star team.

They should tell Ray Allen that he is not to shoot any 3-pointers unless it is absolutely mandatory. He loses his touch for the 3 in the playoffs.

HUGE FAN of the NBA even though I do not follow it as religiously.

As I wrote on facebook yesterday: 2010-2011 NBA Season will see the Lakers go undefeated for their 3rd championship in a row. Kobe Bryant receiving the regular season and finals MVP. That's right. Better luck next year Boston or Heat or Houston or whomever!

Kobe won't be winning the regular season MVP. That title will be given to Durant. I would like to think that OKC is the #2 team in the west. Lakers addition of Matt Barnes and Steve Blake were quite huge and Shanon Brown seems to have improved over the summer as well. Hopefully Bynum can stay healthy this time around... I seriously think if the Lakers want they can break the Chicago win record.

Nets 2-0! Knicks look much better this year and have lots of room for improvement if Danilo would get his hand out of his ass. Just though Lebron was overrated years prior but now I'm officially a Lebron hater. With that said the Miami Heat will contend for a title this year. Dwight Howard looked real good in the first half of the home opener. His offense has definitely expanded and if he can keep that up with some support from his teammates they will be able contend as well. Sucks for Curry to get injured so early but this means more time for Jeremy Lin!!! Hopefully he'll get some minutes against the Lakers tomorrow night.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
