No specific brand, but the resurgence of the lightweight bag with retractable legs was great - the addition of the backpack inspired straps was the coup de gras. If my walking options were to either carry a bag on one shoulder (alternating) or use a pull cart, I'd play < 1/2 as often as I do.

Really have gotten used to my GPS system. A gift for Father's day a few years back so it is an old one but very handy and integrated into my play. I like Johnnie Walker too but prefer a good beer.

for practice purpose on the range... i like having my alignment sticks. few different things I do with the alignment sticks... If I want to practice hitting a draw, i'll put the alignment stick as such |/ which gives me a somewhat visual guide for bringing my club inside-out. Practicing for fades, i'll have it |\ slightly and gives me a visual guide to bring it very slightly outside-in.

Likewise, if i'm playing around with alignment, its good to have the alignment sticks to give me a solid visual on exactly where i'm aiming, etc.

Interesting thread.

For me, two things come to mind. My Golf Logix gps-8 and my club caddy. Love them. With this gps, I always know distance to green center. That is all I want. I don't need all the BS on most gps units. This one is simple, waterproof, and tells me what I want to know. The club caddy is awesome early in the morning when dew is on the greens. I use it to hold my club/clubs while putting. Same goes for using it to hold the putter while chipping on or hitting out of greenside bunkers. Very slick little invention and does what it is supposed to. No more wet grips.

Oh, forgot one...

Simple, yet effective training aid. Improved my swing big time last year when I started using it. Helps me feel lag in my golf swing and in doing so taught me to get my hands in front of the ball at impact. Something I thought I was doing, but wasn't. Helped me stop flipping. Scores are dropping as a result of this simple finding. Lots of videos from Jeff (inventor) on Youtube. I spent a day with him last year in Augusta,Ga. Dropped 5 strokes off my game. He knows what he is doing and is a great guy as well.

Ditto. Lots of uses on the range. I leave them in the bag while playing and they make a great place to put head covers while using a club that has one.

Master Sasaya's 'Sword Oil'. It's the most fantastic thing in golf to be honesting with you; it's basically made from the oil substance that Samurai's in Japan kept their swords shining for with thousands of years, e.g. in Musuems in Japan, swords hundreds of years old are completely shining new, and similar concept with Sword Oil. It's bene developed slightly by Gold's Factory and M.Sasaya has released it; I use it on my Putter & Wedges and it keeps them brand shining new like they have never been used before, completely rust free etc and is best way to keep clubs protected. Could not live without it haha, maybe a bit extreme but it certainly comes in handy!

I just use a gun oil cloth you can buy it at any sporting good or hunting store. They are cheap usually under $5 - definatly worth it if you think about it.

Same here, tons of gun cleaning products out there. The yellow silicone impregnated cloths are perfect. Also, at Walmart you can find the little gun wipes in individual packs. Maybe 8 packs per container. They are just little wipes with gun oil/rust preventative on them. Very handy to keep in the golf bag and wipe off the putter every now and then.

A decent pivot tool would do the same. You jam into the green and lay your clubs on top....Viola!

I can't think of a single thing in my bag that I just couldn't live without. My range finder is my favorite.. but I could go back to stepping off the distance if I had to. Besides that, I don't guess I have any other gadgets. The only divot tools I have are ones that were free...

That looks pretty cool. I'll have to check it out in detail about the engravings. Thanks!

That would equal a needless "bending over" that the other product eliminates.
