Well i have never really liked hybrids or fairway woods, most of the time on tight par 4's i like teeing off with my 3 iron. It is very acurate for me, i am at 95% fairways hit with it this year. And i can hit it very good from the fairway on long par 5's. Well i want a 2 iron now but unfortunatly my set doesnt offer one, so are there any you would reccomend? I am thinking mizuno

you can get a titleist CB 2i.

Have you actually tried hybrids though? mizuno make some really nice players hybrids.

I've heard that modern 2's are tough to hit since irons have been de-lofted over the years.
Titleist stay pretty traditional with their lofts so you might be in luck, forgiveness won't be too good.

Is a 2i worth a spot in your bag? you won't be able to hit it in the rough, only off the tee or perfect lies on the fairway.
A hybrid can be hit from anywhere.

Ping make 2 irons, you will have to do some searchin' though. The G2 2 iron looks like a TREAT to hit, I would love to have the confidence to hit one.
What I Play:
Wilson Mini Stand Bag | PING G10, 10.5°, Proforce V2 HL S | PING G5, 15°, 18°, Aldila NV 75 S | PING G5, 19°, Aldila VS Proto By You 80 S
Mizuno MX200 4-PW S | Ping Tour W 50/12 X | Ping Tour W 58/TS X | A selection of putters, all 35.5 inches.

Find out the loft on your current 3i. As previously posted, it may be closer to the loft of old school 2 irons than you think, making a modern 2 closer to a 1i.

I carry a 2 and use it frequently. But I'm not normal, I carried an old Ping Eye 2 1 iron for more than a decade and hit it off the tee all the time, finally switching to a hybrid a just few years ago. Hitting a 1i off the first tee was, I admit, kinda fun and turned a few heads.

If your current 3i has a standard 3i loft, find an older model 2i to accompany it. Probably won't match your set, so be prepared for that if it's an issue for you.

The Callaway 2008 Pocket Reference Guide shows a 2-iron for both the X Forged and X20 Tour iron sets. Loft for both was 18*.

A quick check on Callaway Preowned, however, came up with no 2-irons for sale from either set. Might call Callaway, see what's left in the components bin.

Another option: Mizuno has the Hi-Fli hybrid irons in 2, 3, and 4. The HF 2i has an 18* loft.

Or, you could try one of the Ping 2-irons. Ping 2i and 3i went into the bags of lots of tour pros back in the 1980s.

I think you can get a MP 60 2i. I know that you can get a MP 67 2i. As far as 2i, I'm with you.

Why have you written this? They do.

And you can also get aMizuno MP Fli-Hi 2 iron.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

There was a guy looking for a 2i before.

None of the new sets have 2i's is what I've heard. Checked the website and they don't offer 2i's

JB you are right. None of the sets they CURRENTLY produce includes a 2-iron.

So shorty, why has he written this? Because they don't. If you want to find a Mizuno 2 iron you have to look for a set that they stopped producing. Plus, according to Mizuno, the MP Fli Hi is a mix between hybrid and iron rather than an actual iron.

Have you considered having your 3 iron loft decreased a degree or two?

Good solution...2 irons are usually 2 degrees stronger than a 3 iron. Since you only have three degrees between your 6 and 7, you could make that 4 degrees and bump everything after that a degree stronger (5, 4, 3) and now your 3 iron is only one degree off from a 2. Or just buy a GI 2 iron with 18 degrees and just bomb it...
