Really nice swing, much better than mine.

To nitpick here's what I see.

At set up, you lean a bit away from the target and your knees are pinched in a tad.  Maybe try standing more neutral, with your knees a little more bowed out and both feet pointed out a bit more.  These things might improve your turn.

World class hip push toward the target, could extend/straighten the right leg some more.  Could hold onto the right wrist hinge (flying wedge) longer.

Please post a face on view.

ok. below are two swings from about a month or so ago. (7-iron and driver). i got some good feedback and i've been working diligently. this morning i had an "ah ha" moment and am now getting my hands more ahead. how much more? about 4 inches. yup, four more inches of forward shaft lean. for advanced golfers, you know that is significant! how'd i do it? uh, it's a secret... see for yourself... video is below called 9-iron slo-mo.

At +2.2, your game is obviously good. Are you just looking for general comments, or do you have something you want to work on? Some bad shots you want to get rid of?

With my handicap I obviously don't have a lot to say.

My one critique would be to get the camera 90 degrees from your target line.

It is slightly in front of you.  Hard to see some things with this perspective.

I love the rotation through the ball, that swing is impressive.

I agree ...camera angle could be better but the swing looks solid with great arm extension. Stance with driver looks to be a shade wide...if feet are positioned slightly closer the transition to left side at impact (tailbone over left ankle) would be easier

That swing is nice. I guess the only thing that is going to drop the handicap more, which is already fantastic is 100 yards and in and putting.

Your upper center is moving forward in the downswing when it should be stationary (or even moving backwards slightly).  Because of this you do not generate enough secondary axis tilt and thus release most of your lag well before impact.  Luckily you transistion well at the top of your swing so your casting starts part way down instead of from the top like most high handicappers.  This allows you to still hit the ball first with some forward shaft lean but you could have much more FSL and get more distance if you retained more lag.  So, work on keeping your upper body centered throughout your swing and you will be golden.

how often to hit thin or fat? i ask this because your release looks REALLY similar to mine. ie; early. Or at least I think it's early? Coz if it's not early, then I can stop worrying about my own release!!! haha. another slight balance issue you might be able to work on is to keep your back foot more on the ground until after impact. Balance may not be a problem for you, but doing this might help narrow the "V" of accuracy....

Do you sometimes suffer from the lefts? Pretty high rate of closure through impact. You're obviously doing something right at a +2.2

I'm not going to pretend I've got any great answers as a 9.8 given you're a +2.2.  But the one thing that struck me was the same thing michael said.  In the 6i shot you look almost flipped at impact, and your driver swing is very "sweep" style at least, though not literally flipped at impact.

Of course you can play great golf from there. A fix would obviously be to get the weight more forward and handle more forward at impact. But you're a +2.2, and a lot of guys have great hand eye coordination and can play from that position. I couldn't, so I had to work on those elements.

    • @jxdama: Same dumb schtick since joining. Yup. Also, it's a par-73.
    • Day 97 - 2025-01-05 Showed up to something that absolutely floored me, and then was busy right through to 9:00. So, I got 5:00 in at night, at home, before bed. My rib cage hurts from a cough (ha ha, but also, f***), and I think I have a mild ear infection in my right ear. Things are just f***ing great.
    • OMG Jerry Barber shot -20 back in 1960! Let's go back and time and bitch about how easy it is to play golf. My goodness, Calvin Pete shot a -21 in 1986! Wait a second, David Duval shot -26 back in 1999! Hold up, Ernie Els shot a -31 back in 2003!!!!  (all scores at The Sentry, it is a very easy golf course for PGA Tour players).  The concept that golf in the past is this protecting par or what not is just romanticized BS. Golfer's have been tearing apart golf courses for decades. Let's have a sense of perspective to base our opinions, ok?
    • I wont  comment further except to say maybe we  can get a  -40 winner soon on these tests  of golf  skill     Hideki Matsuyama runs away with The Sentry, breaks scoring record to open new PGA Tour season Hideki Matsuyama picked up his 11th PGA career win on Sunday afternoon in Hawaii.
    • Day 4 - Had aspirations for range work but a family activity went a lot longer than expected. So 6 minutes of mirror work, feeling good about weight shift back and transition forward.
