Is it just me, or do half of the posts in this thread seem to belong to someone who works for the company?

Seems that way to me. too.   There were number of Polara endorsing posters with post count of 1.

I just found several Polara balls in my home course recently.   The brand name was new to me so I did a search and found this post.  The irony of someone losing this ball is a bit funny (I am chuckling as I am posting this).  Anyway, if it helps people to come out and play golf, I don't see anything wrong with it.   As for me, I will hit some practice shots with it to satisfy my curiosity.

Yes they do work but are most definitely non-conforming and illegal regarding USGA/ R and A rules.

That said I have tried them for fun and they are a hoot.....I sometimes see hackers who have neither the talent nor desire to improve their game play them and it's a kick for them to finally experience hitting a ball straight ...perhaps straight into the woods...but straight.   LOL

They are especially popular with hacks who play par 3 courses for obvious reasons....and so long as everyone understands that its just for kicks...there's no harm I suppose...

I tried one today.  The ball went straight.   As it soared, the ball seems to wobble a bit to correct itself.  It was visually cool.   Well, that's the extent of my experiment.  It's not for me as I am preparing myself to join a club, and start participating in tournaments.

For me the fun frustration is the fun, why not just drive the cart 240 yards down the middle and play your second shot from there. Would accomplish the same thing

They helped me, but don't try to go back to a normal ball.  I developed a bad slice, and I didn't realize it, took me a while be able to hit the ball straight again..

That sounds like the opposite of "help".

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Tried it out of curiosity...Generally shoot 90-92.  I am 64 years old  This is what I found:

1.  The ball did not feel good off the driver

2.  I lost a good bit of distance with the ball--maybe I do not hook or slice enough for it to help, but I probably lost 20 yds off the tee with it and about 10 off the irons.

3.  Trajectory was much lower than normal when I hit a Wilson Elite 50-the ball I normally play---I can afford other more expensive golf balls but I just like the Wilson Elite 50

4.  Played unofficial round with my brother, so I aligned the arrow after each shot.  Found no advantage to using this ball with irons.

5.  Did not like the way it felt off the putter

Played 2 balls through 9 holes and gave them (2 used and 10 new) to my brother.

He has a bit of a hook--the ball did not solve his hood, but it did reduce it...

Again, just tried it once for 9 holes out of curiosity.  May give my brother some for Christmas, as it did seem to help him a bit.

I've hit a few at the driving range as they come up every so often in the bucket (range uses a variety of real balls). I've sliced the everloving snot out of these balls just like any other. I don't see any of the purported benefits.

You can't just hit them you have to line them up

I understand that and did that. They still sliced badly.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
