Not knowledgeable about club repair/building. Do I need to get a new shaft or can I just reglue the clubhead to the same shaft?

If the only problem is the ferrule is loose, then just glue it back in place.  A 2-part epoxy from Ace Hardware will do as that is what is used to adhere the shaft into the clubhead.  But I would think most any other of adhesive would keep it in place, like model glue or crazy glue or.....??

When I was about 14 I bought a Titanium 454 CC Driver from some terrible site for about $24... as you might expect it was a real pile of crap and the head fell off not 2 months later. Anyway I glued it back on with crazy glue and used it for 3 more years before my Uncle had mercy on me and bough me a real driver but I still have that old piece of Junk and the crazy glue is still holding it together.

So it's just aesthetic? Than I'll just let it wander around. As long as the clubhead stays attached, than I'm good. My 5 iron head came off shortly after the ferrule came loose, so I made an assumption.

Is the ferrule loose or is the head coming off the shaft?

sounds like the ferrule, the black plastic ring above the club right?  It's not necessary, you can glue it on with crazy glue, it won't have an effect on club performance, just makes the construction look clean.  Unless, it's actually stuck on the shaft good, then I'd check to see if the head was loose, put some torque on the club and shaft and see if there's any cracking or give in it's connection.

Tried the torque test. Doesn't look like there's any give or cracking. My 5 iron head came of ~5 years ago, so the 6 iron is probably good. Thanks.

The ferrule is just there for looks.  The club would work the same without it.  Glue it back down if it bothers you.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
