I enjoy the AD333 and the soft feel. I am currently using the Bridgestone e6's but have 3 dozen unused AD333's that will be getting some play soon.

Srixon makes good stuff.  Ive used Srixon balls in the past (AD33, TriSpeed, Soft Feel and Z-Star) and wouldnt hesitate to use them again in the future.

I started playing the Z Star line this year and love it.  Good feel and pretty straight off the tee.  If you're a fast swinger the XV is supposed to be awesome.

Played the Z Star all through last year and never expected that I would be changing balls this year but that's what I've done.  I'm now playing the Z Star XV and think it's even better than the Z Star.  I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of their Z Star line.  Haven't played anything other so I don't know about the Ad333 or the TriSpeed lines.

You are running a HUGE risk here.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

Just remember that if you do end up using one, that it will change every single aspect of your game.

In other words, like all other top brands, they're great balls and you won't perceive any difference at all between them and other balls you're using, unless you are using garbage "distance" balls, in which case all of the Srixons will feel much better. They are used by many tour players, major winners included, so I don't think you have much to worry about.

I currently play the srixon Z-Star XV. It is a great ball, it provides plenty of spin on the greens while little off the tee. I have a pretty high club head speed and these ball really do perform. I used to play the Pro-V1x but was looking for a change in pace, and I found it. This ball can do everything the Pro-v1x can but better. It is longer off the tee and the performance in the short game is unmatched

Thanks for all the feedback!  I don't think that I am ready for the 3-piece balls yet.  I do not feel I have quite enough club control for them.  I was leaning more towards the AD333 or Soft Feel.  Right now I am using Callaway Warbirds.  They are ok.  I picked up a cheap set of Fuzz balls at Academy and thought that they hit better than the Callaway.  Now I know that they are not their top of the line ball, but I still expected for it to be better than the Fuzz.  I guess that is a big reason that I am thinking of trying to switch it up and go with Srixon.

I really do appreciate all advice/comments, welcome them actually (no matter how brutally honest).  So please feel free to be brutally honest.  Thanks guys/gals!

Near the bottom of the Callaway barrel are some real rocks. I've found some on the course you'd probably have to hit 1000000 times to scuff. Their tour balls are truly fantastic, but in general, without knowing the exact version I'd probably take a pass on Callaway balls.

If you like a super low compression ball, like the Fuzz, Wilson makes a couple good versions (Elite 50?) and Nike used to as well (PD Soft and Mojo).

I'd go with the AD-333 out of those two. I find the soft feel very clicky and jumpy off the putter face.

Try the bridgestone e balls too. I think they are a big step up from the distance balls in feel and consistent around the green.

Yea I have really been unhappy with the other balls.  I had no idea that they were really that much harder.  But I have been listening to some podcasts on Edwin Watts Golf Talk and they can't stop talking about Srixon. Even when they have other companies on the air, it seems to be mentioned somewhere in the conversation.

While you're trying a few different options in the coming months (Srixon AD333, Bridgestone e5 or e6, Titleist NTX, or whatever else), you might try www.lostgolfballs.com where you can pick up "like new" balls (assuming you get the top condition) for 25-30% less than retail.  I switch between buying balls from Golf Galaxy and buying balls from lost golf balls dot com.  Mutliple friends have used that site and have been pleased.  That's how I found out about it.  Just food for thought...

Im a huge fan of the Srixon Z-Star X and the Tri-speed Tour balls. I play them both, depending on where my game is at. I did just buy some Taylormade Penta balls to try out, but ill probably go back to the Srixons.

I use the Srixon Trispeed and Trispeed Tour. Both give a good feel off all the clubs, including the putter. Get a definite "click" not a mushy thump like some balls.

I've read reviews that say the feel around the greens is lacking with the XV. Some have said that it tends to roll out more than they like. I just picked some up and am putting them into play tomorrow. Look forward to finding out for myself because they seem to be becoming a highly used ball by many players.

The Srixon Z-star XV is the lowest spinning tour ball, per the Srixon/Cleveland golf rep I spoke with. Which makes sense why it rolls out more than the regular Z-star or Z-star X. Im assuming its similar to the B330-RX? Possibly B330 RX-S?

Please post what you think about them.  I am going to be getting some here pretty soon and want all the feedback I can get on them.  I will be playing a week from today, that's as soon as I can get out.  I will have a box of new balls before I go.

Nice tip. I was kinda leaning towards the Srixon Soft Feel myself, but the last thing I need is a ball that is jumpy off the putter face.

      Did you look up any Rules before posting here? What did you learn or find? You don't get to drop (or place) closer to the hole. 16.1(c) deals with relief for Abnormal Course Conditions in bunkers. You're granted free relief for: Since you say the bunker was basically entirely full of water, you likely wouldn't get complete relief, so for free (no penalty strokes), you are entitled to "maximum available" relief. If there's a spot in the back of the bunker away from the hole where the water is the shallowest, then you can drop there. If you don't like any of those options, you can take a penalty stroke and drop out of the bunker, behind it: You seem to have played from a wrong place (nearer to the hole) and thus likely should be penalized two strokes. It doesn't sound like a serious breach, at least.

      I feel that the stock grips on my Wilson D9's are a little thin.  The grips on my other clubs (purchased used online and sold by me a couple months ago) were Golf Pride and they looked like the wrapped version.  I will say they felt like they had a little more cushion.  I don't have particularly large hands.  Did the grips on my other clubs have more tape or was just a better feeling softer grip?  I have no idea.  Well, any brands you would recommend that have a softer feel?

      So this situation happened. A bunker in front of the green was full of water. My ball was underwater in the very back of the bunker furthest from the green. There was a small patch on the front upslope of the bunker nearest the green that theoretically could have been used to hit from if the ball was placed.  A drop would just roll back into the water. And this was the only part of the bunker you might be able to get a stance without standing in water. So my question is do you hit from that small front slope even though you would have to move the ball 6-7 closer to the pin? Or do you drop outside the bunker making sure you are no closer to the pin? I dropped in front of the bunker, so I had to chip over the whole bunker. Was this the right call? Also could I have moved it latterly outside the bunker, although this wouldn’t have made much difference as my ball was pretty much as far back in the bunker as you could be away from the hole.

      I just got my shotscope v5 watch and used it yesterday. Its fairly accurate at the course I was playing so I did not use my rangefinder at all. I was able to calculate what club i needed from that.
