While surfing the web for Titleist AP1 irons with graphite shafts I stumbled upon a store called "golfonlinewholesale.com".

They offer these irons for $349.00 with free shipping.  Has anyone ever bought from here before. It sounds too good to be true.  Thanks

From there About Us Section:

Why buy wholesale golf clubs from us ? From 1999, we established a wholesale golf shop in USA, after over 10 years of development, we have sold over 100,000,000 sets of cheap golf clubs . Besides, our wholesale golf shop becomes bigger and bigger and our regular customers has over 100,000. Now we set up a online wholesale golf shop to expand our golf business, and let our regular and new customers easily buy their idea cheap golf clubs. Help yourself in our site, and hope you can have a wonderful shopping experience.

Notice all the typos?

"From 1999, we established..."

"...Our Regular Customers Has..."

"Now we set up a online..."

"...customers easily buy their idea cheap golf clubs"

Their IP comes back to Secured Servers LLC out of Arizona, I cant find an owner for the domain.

There is also no archives of this site available from before april 2011 which is a bad sign, they were probably only set up recently.

Stay away Id bet they are pedaling fakes.

I did notice the mis-spelling and also seen a picture of a Ping iron with Ping spelled backwards on it.  I have to believe that these are fakes or a site that just takes your credit card info.

"Any questions, please contact us: golfonlinewholesale.service@gmail.com"

Gmail.com?  I would think a reputable seller would have an email address with a provider better than a free Google mail account.  The misspellings and phrasing has China written all over the web site.

I Googled the phone number on the "Contact Us" page, and.......

http://www.ripoffreport.com/sporting-good-manufactures/on-line-golf-wholesa/on-line-golf-wholesale-com-on-d44e3.htm

It also looks like there are numerous other "wholesale cheap golfs equipments" website that are virtually identical to this one.

As some one said earlier..... run, run away!!

Talked to my Ping rep today and he said that 93% of club websites are knock offs (obviously excluding tgw, golfsmith, etc.)

Dick's is a legitimate place.  They buy directly from the manufacturer.  Their Callaway clubs are the real deal.

Funny story about Dick's... my ex-wife was looking for some sort of sports thing and tried to go to their website.  My daughter told me "don't just type in dicks dot com".

    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
