Does this bother anyone else or is it just me?

Depends what club it is and who is asking. A beginner or high handicapper asking to hit my driver? Nope. Irons? Probably.

Where are you guys running into these people out on the course that have no idea how to even swing a club?  I've never paired up with someone or went out with someone who didn't have some idea of what they were doing.  NO ONE is gonna hit a shot thats any worse than some of the shots I've hit.

I swing my irons and hit the ground over and over again.  I don't think anyone else on a golf course is gonna somehow find that special way to break the club doing the same things.

I've crowned my driver before...I don't think its gonna be any worse for someone else to do it if they mess up.  I have a used 3w that already had a dent in its crown...OMG its useless!

we were speaking of value vs damage...and YES, guitars drop all the time from worn straps or sweaty hands... if you played guitar you'd know how easily they get knicked and dinged...very easily... and if your axe falls off the rack, yer done..specially if it's a set-neck(opposed to bolt-on)...I can't see how a dent anywhere besides the face of a club, will render it useless... besides, it's NOT the arrow, it's the Indian.

Where are people running into strangers who want to hit their clubs? Who are these guys? An appropriate response would be, "What's wrong with just hitting your own own shiny club?"

Lol, I don't know of any stranger who has EVER asked and I know i would never ask someone I wasn't very good friends with.  There is no friend I play golf with who I wouldn't let swing any club I have...even my beloved 60 degree wedge if they felt daring.  Must be some odd people out there.

It really doesn't matter me much, but I must admit it depends on who is asking and why, so basicly I have no problems with it, but I wouldn't do it if some one asked to try a driver, bc. he always wanted to buy a driver, but never did ......

And also if someone drops 25 balls in a bunker and ask me if he may try my Bob Vokey, I would say no !
