It looks like Long John withdrew from the Honda. It looks as if he started on #10, then parred #10 & #11, then withdrew, but I can't find anything giving a reason for the withdrawal.

Get the photographer next week too! Get the driving accuracy up and see if you can hit the camera. Or get Stevie to caddy for him for the week.

They said it was a woman member of the club taking pictures and she didn't know you can't take pictures during the official rounds.

Not too sure about that? Surely everybody knows its bad manners to point a camera at somebody unless they've previously given their permission first? She was obviously your typical "run of the mill" moron who couldn't resist taking a picture.

2007 The Honda Classic
Daly Forced to WD after Incident with Fan
By Associated Press - March 01, 2007

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- John Daly was injured trying to stop his backswing after being distracted by a fan taking his picture, forcing him to withdraw from the Honda Classic after only two holes Thursday.

PGA TOUR officials said Daly injured his rib area, along with his shoulder. The severity or exact nature of either injury wasn't known.

The fan, who was not identified by the tour, is a resident of the PGA National complex where the tournament is being held and, because she lives on-site, it wasn't clear if she went through standard security screening. She was unaware of the tournament's no-camera policy, Honda executive director Ken Kennerly said.

You'll find thousands of street photographers who will disagree with that. And, you know, just about every member of the media.

All this guy needs is one good week and some good karma. Let him relax, and get his injury worked out, he'll come back guns blazing. Daly's not doen and for those who think he is are sadly mistaken.

Two cuts in eight stops........wow. And that is the issue. For as good a player as JD is supposed to be, he has to make cuts.

He doesn't have to win a freaking major for cryin' out loud, but if he's going to move up the money list, then....well.....he has to make some money.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
