I always wear sunglasses as I have pretty sensitive eyes.

The brand I prefer is SMITH.
I have Sliders that allow you to change out the lenses depending on the lighting.
I have the normal lense for the day time.
Amber for the overcast day and the Yellow lenses for dusk, rain, etc.
The Yellow lenses extend your vision a ton in low levels of light and really brighten things up.

Check them out... http://www.smithoptics.com/

I wear Oakley half jackets. I'm a huge head-case, and don't like playing with sunglasses on, but these don't bother be because they don't seem to cause any distortion and they are so comfortable i don't even notice them when i'm wearing them. You can change lenses, but i have not picked up the golf specific ones they sell... I will though.

Great for driving as well.

Lasik surgery forces me to wear sunglasses since i've had it.
The only sunglasses that work well real well from all the pairs are oakley. they're even more expensive now that they're owned by Gucci. a

I wear my Oak's when I have my contacts in and I mainly wear them to help protect them from drying out... otherwise, I don't need ANY distractions to hinder my already tore up swing..

I've got the 1/2 jackets with the golf lenses. I like wearing the rose lenses for most of the round, if it's a later round I may switch to the yellow and if it's a very bright day, polarized brown tint all the way :)

I'll wear my shades the whole round, but every few holes I've got to remove my hat.

Thats funny as Im the same way. I wear my sunglasses the whole time, but I have to let the head vent a little every once in a while. Ive got Oakley Crosshairs in Pewter/Black.

If so, what kind? Do you wear them the entire round, or do you take them off to putt?

I can't wear them when I'm actually swinging or putting. It gets hot as heck down here and having sweat dripping down the lenses is too much of a distraction. I do try to wear them between shots. Nothing real expensive...just a pair of polarized Bolle's. I'll take 'em off and hang them on my bag when I'm drawing a club....put 'em back on when the glub goes back in the bag.

I've always worn sunglasses, and frankly I can't understand why anyone would not. Sure they may distort your image some, but I'd rather protect my eyes than play perfect golf...not that I've got that problem, anyway. I used to buy expensive models by brands such as Maui Jim, Ray Ban, Oakley, etc...my last purchase was a cheap pair of knock-off ray ban aviators. Got them from this website: http://www.thesunglassmanonline.com/

For the price, they are pretty hard to beat. I'll never spend more than $15 on SG's in the future. But as far as top of the line sunglasses, I think Maui Jim's (with real glass lenses) provide the most clarity and color of any SG's I've ever worn.

I'm nearsighted, so I wear my glasses. All my glasses are photo-grey so they change with the amount to sunlight.

That being said, the pair I wear for golf and skeet are aviator style with large lenses. My daily glasses are more rectangular and I would get distracted by seeing the frame in my swing.
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

In my bag todayâ¦.

I wear my Maui Jim's whenever golfing in sunny weather.

As an optometrist, I cannot urge you guys/girls enough to wear proper UV eye protection. Proper UV light protection can greatly decrease your chance of developing Macular Degeneration later in life.

I wear them now more than ever since both my parents and parents of friends have had cataract surgery recently.

Wearing protective sunglasses apparently helps prevent cataracts from developing.

I have tried in the past, but often took them off to chip and putt. I would occasionally forget they were on top of my hat for several holes. I almost lost a pair when I was hitting out of some trees and caught them on a branch. I will occasionally put them on if it's really bright out or if I have to watch a shot that is directly into the sun.

    • Super narrow hole. Stroke average will likely be well over par here. Since it seems like it only plays what 300-305 for you from white tees I don't think 7i - 7i is the worst play if 7i dispersion is small enough that it would hardly ever reach the penalty hazards.  But if your 7i dispersion brings the hazards into play then you're likely better off hitting something further up there since everything would have the hazard in play.
    • Nice, I just thought mine was a decent guess to rule out a few things and did not expect to hole out.
    • Hey team. This is a very difficult hole at the course I started golfing on and where I often go back. I always struggle - it’s narrow (35y) with trees on both sides. If you go lateral, you’re out of bounds. The green also feels small.    I play the white tees usually, so 30 or so yards up from here. If I hit my driver, it usually goes lateral and lost or if it curves it hits a tree and I lose a ton of distance.   I carry my 7i probably about 140-145, with 5-7 yards of roll out. Driver is 265 with roll out on a good strike with a premium ball, but probably closer to 220 carry on average. My hybrid goes about 180-200 including roll out but has been fading quite a bit recently not too much wind on this hole and the ground is hard, but I’m not sure I’ve practiced a long punch. If that’s what I need to work on, happy to put in the time.  Appreciate any advice anyone has, approach to holes like this, or other things to consider.
