I guess I don't get it.... why do people leave their Tee's still stuck in the ground on the Tee Box.  Seems awful lazy to me.  I always pull mine up and if not broken put in my pocket, but if broken toss it aside.  But never left sticking in the ground.

Laziness.  Same reason they do not repair their ball marks and divots.  I always reclaim my tees and only toss aside the ones that are broken.

Also, I realize tees aren't expensive but I am always amazed when people leave perfectly usable tees behind.  Guess it's the accountant in me that cannot leave a still usable 4 cent tee on the box.

ahahahhahah !!!

i am a serial tee-leaver-behinder

some people do it because they hurry off the tee box from time to time. Someone hits a bad shot and they walk off in frustration.

I usually pocket the good ones and always grab mine if I can find it/it isn't broken.

I was once told by a course owner that the broken tees were bad for the mowers.  I have no idea if that was true or if he just didn't like the litter.  But ever since I've always tossed my broken tee pieces into the garbage can next to the tee box.  Takes only an extra second of time and it helps keeps the course looking nice so it's never bothered me to do it.

Ha, I like my hits where the tee remains intact.  Those are always my best hits.  Unfortunately, more often than not the tees are broken in half with a divot that resembles the Grand Canyon.

I always mean to pick mine up but I forget a lot.  Usually happens when I hit a bad shot because I am kinda frustrated and just walk off the tee box right away.

LOL, funny considering I have this in my profile (even though it's not visible yet):

"Random thought after reflecting on a recent round of golf in which I left behind incredible divots: If God was a golfer, the Grand Canyon must be the culmination of his efforts to strike a ball off the tee box. Ashamed and seeking redemption, he decided it would later be considered one of the Wonders of the World."

I don't know why they do it but that's fine; if I'm hitting 3W or a long iron then any old broken tee is good.  But if I'm hitting driver I'll use my own.

On the rare occasion that I leave oen there myself it's because something truly extraordinary has happened ...... maximum length and right down the middle.

I don't get it? You call them lazy but you throw your broken(garbage) tee to the side of the tee box instead of throwing it away. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Humm...  I would throw them away if there was a receptable at the Tee Box or something.  I'm trying to think of the impact of leaving a tee in the box, and another golf having to remove it so they can play their shot.  A broken tee on the ground has less impact, and the grounds keepers indicated that they don't worry about discarded tees.

On par 3's, i usually pull the broken tee out and put it by the tee marker, so someone can use it. I usually go around the tee boxy digging out broken tees anyway because people in my group probably would use some as well.

Half the fun of really catching a drive just right is casually bending down to pull your tee while it's still on the way up! Bonus points for strolling off the box and getting the driver back in the bag before the ball stops rolling out in the fairway ... :)

my tees rarely stay in the ground when i hit driver but i try and pick them up.  when hitting fairway wood or irons off the tee box i look for broken tees to reuse.

    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
