Guys/Gals,
i don't know about you (anyone from the northeast) but i'm sick of the rain. with the amounts we've recieved (well over 10")...it'll be tough to play ANY course in this area for at least another 4-5 days...anyone else wish the rain, rain, would go away?

I try to look on the bright side.  It won't be long before we're saying "will it ever stop snowing."  Just typing it makes me want to go golfing in the rain when I leave work.

I hear ya man. The last week we can't get anything but rain. I've gotten a round in almost every day but not without having to take out the umbrella. I don't mind playing in rain but my home course can't take any rain at all. If it rains for much more than 15 minutes at a steady pace they won't let any carts out because of wet the course is. My buddy and I always wait it out but most of the time they'll call all the carts in. Yesterday we played the front(last two holes in a downpour) and waited it out for about a half hour. Then they called all the carts in. We went back an hour or two later and were able to play the back and we were the only ones on the entire course, it was awesome. I know the course owner so he just told us to back the cart in to the barn and lock it up when we were done. Anyway so after the back, we went back to #1 to play another 9 or maybe 18 before dark. I par'd #1, birdied #2, par'd #3, bogied #4. Even thru 4 which was my best start ever but their was a big storm moving in quick so we called it a day. I was so pissed haha. I hate the first 3 holes and am usually happy with bogey golf thru 3 but I was freakin even after 4. I told him we needed to go back and pick up where we left of on #5's tee. We were both playing really well. I was even, he was one up.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

Someone in Ireland, Scotland or that whereabouts is having a chuckle at this.

Rain?  Maybe next month.  No fires yet, but once we get some we will gladly trade you for some rain.

Now we have fires, too.  At least it's been under 100 for the past few days.  I read that the drought might last until Summer 2012, so I guess that explains my increased driving distance.  And I had hoped that it was just me...

I'm as sick of the rain as the rest of you I just pick a day that looks like it may not rain and schedule a tee time, only got rained on once so far being new I just wnat to get out. the dark side is the ground is oversaturated the balls dont roll, sometimes they just go plunk in the ground. I golfed a few weeks ago and had a rooster tail coming up from behind the ball after it hit the ground a low stinger unintentional non the less it was effective. ground is to soft so the clubs dig down deep, greens are in very bad shape from all the rain and some of the fairways where I have been playing are in a state of repair due to excessive ground water running across them but what the heck I'll continue to get out and play as much as possible..........................................so all I can say is...........rain what rain................................

The rain is starting to be annoying...to say the least.   I'm afraid that a Folds of Honor golf event on Friday will be a washout.  My 15 year anniversary is next week and what better way to celebrate than a 2 day (1 night) spa and golf outing at a relatively local resort.  The problem is that the golf courses are increasingly booked with weekend events during the AM and PM as they try to catch up on previously postponed events.  I got the hotel and spa lined up but it's proving to be difficult to get on a nice course during the weekend.

i think this last bit of rain has brought more rain than irene did...a steady 4-5 days of rain will beat any 1 day total. i'm sick of it. only good side is i can still get my competitive nature out in bowling leagues starting tonight lol

Haha, I'm with you! My bowling league starts tomorrow (Friday)! Rain, rain rain rain rain and more RAIN! Regardless of the rain tomorrow that we will surely have, here in Ohio, I am going to go play 9 or 18 in the morning before my league. I caught the golf bug so bad this year and it's only making it worse that this has been one of the rainiest Septembers that I can recall. I will not complain though as long as we're in the mid-upper 60's and break into 70 here and there. It's when the... "snow" (that is a hard word to say for me) starts falling that I will really go insane! Bowling definitely takes the edge off though! Here's to a 700 series opening night - and winning enough money in brackets to buy a new Driver!

Next week looks like I will finally be able to get in a few rounds! Going to be in Ocean City, NJ on vacation too so I am going to get to try some new courses.
