Hi, I'm just getting back into the game at almost 48.  When I was a kid we had a membership to a country club in Houston where I grew up and I used to put my bag on my back and ride my bike to the course all the time.  Then the club closed and I pretty much quit golfing, since there wasn't anyplace close that I could get to anymore.

I'm basically a hacker right now but I have fun and that's all that matters to me.  My theory is that bad golfers have a lot more fun than good ones.  That's because when I make a good shot it is exciting, and when I make a bad one it is expected, so there is no reason for me to ever get mad.

The season is over here til about may so I thought I would join a forum and try to learn some stuff over the winter.
