I've seen Natalie in person here in Las Vegas and I was more impressed than on TV. But that absurd chest turned me off immediately. At least the cocktail waitresses do it for a reason. I've dated a few of them and talked to plenty. There's a definite correlation to tips.

You wouldn't believe some of the derisive nicknames around here, things that cocktail waitresses call another waitress who got ridiculous boobs that don't match her frame. At one casino a tiny blond is now called, "Shelly Pop" because the others are certain that's going to happen to her new additions any day now.

Anyway, I have a feeling Paula looks very ordinary in person. Her body is hardly lean and athletic, the face is buttery and there's a bit of a 'stache. No denying the bumper, her best asset.

Early this year I saw Paula asked about Lorena, and Paula said there was no doubt Lorena was in great shape, much better shape than she was in. I took that as potential that Paula would undertake an exercise regimen and firm up, but it looks like the opposite route, the Mickelson tendency to get more sloppy as the golf season winds to a close.

In Natalie's case it's not a boob job though. I have met her in person and have her swimsuit calendars and can tell you she's not that big.

It's a factor of two things: 1) a very good push-up bra and 2)weightlifting - as an amateur body-builder I can tell you that it lifts your entire chest cavity creating that effect. My chest just puffs out compared to the average person.

If forced to decide between Natalie and Paula, I'd go with Natalie as a golfing partner.

Here is how I rate them:

1. Quality of the golf swing and overall game=Paula, and her record substantiates that, and other stats. 2. Friendliness as a golf partner: they are both excellent, but I give an edge to Natalie 3. Looks: both are good-looking, but I give the edge to Natalie---she has more sex appeal, and I am talking about seeing her in person, NOT based on her swimsuit calendars (I do have the 2006 and 2007 ones).

My thoughts almost exactly, only articulated better ... and I've never seen either in person or on calendars.

Agree about the in-person thing. I was not that impressed with Gulbis until I met her. There is something incredibly magnetic about her, so I do see what the big deal is all about. Even my wife remarked on it.

Its surely between these two as far as looks go. But who do you rank number one? If there is any one else you think challenges either of these fine young ladies, please make it known!

As for looks, I like both of them, and we are fortunate that both are playing on the LPGA Tour in their prime. Paula is the better player, and is a fiery competitor. I think Natalie also wants to win badly, but she does not display a temper as much as Paula does. I have watched them at the practice rounds of the Women's Open, and at the Wegman's in Rochester, NY. Fortunately, I saw Natalie play in a Skins Game with The King (Arnie, of course), big John Daly, and Kix Brooks, at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino about three years ago. Arnie let Natalie take the mike and do the commentary during the clinic, and he pointed out that she was on the US Solheim Cup team that had just beat the Euros. Natalie has a great personality and I can see why The Golf Channel has let her do a "reality TV show".

Too bad I don't see too many attractive girls playing golf locally. All I see are senior citizen ladies or overweight mom's that like to act obnoxious on muni's.

We are fortunate in our area. The Mohawk Valley Junior Tour holds 9 tournaments during the summer for boys and girls. As a result, our area has a number of good junior players, who go on to play college golf, and one, Moira Dunn, is currently on the LPGA Tour. Golf has become a bit more popular with the girls, and many of them are good looking. In the past, not that many girls played the game, so this is a huge difference with the way things were.

It appears that Paula is over her mysterious stomach problem. She is tied for fourth, after three rounds, in the Sybase Classic in New Jersey. Her scores have gone down each day==70--69--68. She is one of my favorites, and her illness was a peculiar one. Natalie is doing OK---she is tied for 16th, with 70-72-70.

I've met both in person and they are both beautiful talented players. Natalie has more talent than she has shown thus far, and maybe her off-course schedule has something to do with that. If it was about looks between the two, I woudl take Paula every time. She has a great natural smile and seems more likable than Natalie.

However, Erica Blasberg blows both of them out of the water in my opinion! Just check out her pictures on her Facebook page and you'll understand.

I just saw them at the Sybase, as I have the past several years. Creamer is always frowning and doesn't interact with the crowd Gulbis chats up a storm with her fans and is the LPGA's most requested pro-am partner. In 2008 she (Natalie) was given the Mousie Powell Award (player whose attitude best exemplifies the qualities and values of sportsmanship) by her peers., So I don't know how you could say what you did about the likeability factor.

Blasberg has no personality, and more importantly her game is terrible.

    • It sucks to carry around a lot of water, but ideally it should be way more than we think.  I buy those gallon jugs of water and hang them from my pushcart when I walk. I agree with the electrolytes as well. You don't just sweat out water, but you lose electrolytes as well.
    • A 2010 study from the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research compares the effects of different pre-round stretch routines for competitive golfers. Active Dynamic Warm-up: Swing Medicus driver, hit 3 shots each with selected clubs. Passive Static Stretches: Various athletic stretches such as hamstrings, chest stretch and reverse trunk twist. The subjects were collegiate golfers with a HDCP index of 5 or less who engaged regularly in strength and fitness routines. All golfers had two test days: one with active dynamic (AD) warmup, a second with AD followed by static stretches (SS). The results were then compared, within golfers and across golfers. For performance testing after the warmups, golfers hit three driver shots at time 0, 15, 30 and 45 minutes after the warmup. The study shows that static stretch formats produced poorer performance outcomes in the four measures shown in Table 5, which shows Time Zero results. The performance deficits under the PSS protocol decreased over time. Some suggestions on why the passive protocol was tied to lower performance than the active protocol: The passive stretches routine induced excessive range of motion,  basically producing wobbles in the golf swing. Other research indicates that the stretching produced slack in the tendons, lessening the amount of muscle force that could be transferred into the shot. One caveat: The study had good scientific controls and balancing of treatments (test routines). This was, however, an exploratory study and raises as many questions as it answers. Also, although the study was done back in 2010, it is still cited as a primary work in recent reviews. A quick online search did not reveal any follow-ups on the study. For those interested, the study PDF is below. PassiveStretchGOLF.pdf
    • I have trouble with vertigo on occasion, but have gotten nutritional and biofeedback tips to keep it at bay. Dehydration can help trigger v-like symptoms so one recommendation, along with maintaining overall hydration, is to start with 8 oz. of water early in the morning. A meta-analysis on Golf As Physical Activity indicated that golf is rated as a moderately intensive physical activity. This scientific literature review came from the University of Edinburgh. The physical activity level ties into hydration. A former university colleague was a marathon runner who had published a couple of articles on endurance training. He likewise said that golf was a moderate physical activity especially when the round stretched past  the two-hour mark. For hydration he recommended switching from water to electrolyte drink on the back nine (past two hour point of exercise) to prevent cramping. At the two-hour point of moderate activity, water starts flushing electrolytes out of the body, which can lead to fatigue and cramping. (I have had trouble with leg cramps in the past during exertion.) During a round, I start out with water on the front nine and switch to sports drink on the back nine. If the day is unusually hot, I may drink 8 oz. of Pedialite concentrate before going to the course. Maintaining overall hydration plus on-course boosters keeps me going.
    • Personally I’d try booking direct first - either via the Vidanta golf reservations number/email or through the resort concierge - especially for Christmas/New Year. Vidanta’s main courses (Greg Norman and Nicklaus designs) are popular and can book out fast this time of year, so direct often gives you the best shot at your preferred tee times.
