I guess if I had to pick off of your list I'd go with the Cleveland 588s but I will actually be sticking with the TaylorMade xFT wedges that I currently have in my bag.

Saw the Vokey SM4 in the new grinds -- very impressive. Only was able to hit them into the net. Too bad Vokey doesn't forge them.

The Mizuno MP-T11's also look nice but those are soooo 2011. Still, Luke has them. The narrow sole of the MP-R raised my eyebrows.

The new Callaways look promising - what can you say when Roger Cleveland does a forged wedge?

If I had to pick off your list, I would go with the new SM4 Vokey wedges. But I'm going to do the Edel fitting for wedges soon. Just seems like the right thing to do since all of my other clubs (minus my putter) have been fit for me.

What is Edel's drawing point? Is it some unforeseen technology making it what sounds like the best kept secret in golf, or is just like a prestige thing? What makes their wedges tick?

Having a pro / certified club fitter from Edel take the time to custom fit wedges to my personal swing type just sounds like the way to go. Rather than buying a stock wedge off the shelf. With today's swing analysis equipment and tools... Learning the physics of your swing, and then applying that knowledge and custom crafting a club to meet your specific needs seems like the best route to me. As far as I know, this describes the Edel process which in my opinion, differentiates it from all the other wedge companies on the market.

Sounds like you're reading from the brochure. Once you have an idea the basic grind you want there's no way you couldn't just buy stock wedges and play just as well. So what if you play another type of course or it's raining outside? Do you need to have links wedges and parkland wedges?

I meant whats the diff between getting fitted by Edel, or Titleist. And does Edel only fit you to their wedges? Would it be the same if you got a Golf Galaxy fittting?

No, not even close.  Like the putters, you are getting wedges designed, hand ground, for you.  Edel and Mike Adams feels most wedges produced by OEM's have enough bounce.  One tour player has 22* of bounce on their lob wedge.  The fitting process involves hitting shots off tight lies, deep grass and out of bunkers, from there the fitter decides whetther the player is a sweeper, picker, nipper, pincher, trapper, driver or digger  The fitter also determines where the bounce should be positioned on the wedge's sole, and how wide the sole was. As Mike Adams said in an interview, "The wider the sole, the more effective bounce on the wedge because of the greater surface area. The more narrow the sole, the less effective bounce a wedge has because of the decreased surface area.  The system allowed players to enhance what they could already do with a wedge, and make it more efficient in the places they struggled."

The fitting also includes being able to find the right shaft by using interchangeable heads which allows the fitter to identify which of the 14 available wedge shafts work best for the player.

I'm old school - My CG14s still have good grooves, will get them regripped for Christmas. Use 50, 54  58, but will sometimes swap the 54 and 58 for a Callaway XForged 56.14 when I need more bounce in traps.

I was recently looking for a mid bounce lob wedge, and I went through the holy grail of searches -- Titleist SM4 60-07 (tempting and the slightly larger head was fine), Bridgestone J40 (love the grind and owned it previously), Callaway Jaws (C Grind) -- but finally stopped at the Mizuno MP T11 60-08 in white satin. The head is gorgeous and it is equipped with the DG Spinner -- and I bit after hitting the SM4 and the MP T11 into a net. I slightly preferred the Mizuno.

Played it today and I must admit, it places serious spin on the ball. I play a Bridgestone e5 ball, and my Miura 59 did not stop it like the Mizuno. And since Luke Donald had input in its design and I've heard he has a decent short game - you might want to check them out.
