Apparently, the wind died down all of a sudden.  Oxnard airport to the east had issues early in the morning but is running smoothly now.

The wind is picking up a little bit now.

And Tiger just hit out of the rough, advanced the ball perhaps 10 yard, this makes me feel better about my game.

In the post-round interview he said he had a broken shoelace.

Thanks, still not convinced he was moving that well. A few grimaces on the back nine, hopefully because of the golf he was playing rather than any flair up of the injuries.

Jeez. 2 eagles for Tiger....-6 for the round

It took a long time, but it seems his game is back

That flop shot was incredible. So close for his third eagle. No doubt Tiger is looking better than he has for a long time. Shaping shots both ways, hitting the long clubs down the middle. Still some iffy shots off the tee here and there, but his current form is reflected by his current score. He's strutting again.

Tiger is playing much better but still too many silly mistakes. He could be leading by 5 or 6 strokes....

He could be... but it's nice to see him leading...  I think with each tournament he is getting better and better and this maybe the one he finally wins... I sure hope so because if nothing else it'll help stop this "when will Tiger win again?" crap.

He needs some practice to do it as well as Rocco Mediate (assuming Rocco still does it).

Speaking of practice, I was thinking about the current "No Practice" thread and pondered the current down cycle in Tiger's career. Golf isn't really that hard considering with very little practice hackers like me can maintain our current level of excellence (as low as that is), so why wouldn't a healthy Tiger win this and many more events? To suggest he couldn't (versus "probably won't" because there are so many other good players in the field) is ridiculous. Not suggesting for one second you ever did suggest that, but I think I may have at one point and flawed logic. Just throwin' that out there.

Considering there are only 18 players in the field. His chances of winning are a lot higher than any other tourney.

    • First going to spain for a long weekend in March probably going to play La Quinta, Los Arqueros and Fina Cortesin, and first week in May will compete in the Crawsnest Tassie at Carnoustie golf links, that will be a full week of golf golf golf and more golf. Did play it last year for the first time and it is awesome.

    • Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.
    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
