Meanwhile in Indiana, where the temperature hit SIXTY yesterday, all the courses are closed for the winter. Including the facility with the heated driving range and indoor simulator.

Meanwhile on Long Island, the temperature was also 60* and the local 9-hole courses stayed open and were packed for a great day of golf.

Even though I didn't have my clubs and didn't score great, I got to try out a new wedge and completely pure'd it a few times, hit some great shots, and satisfied myself for the next few months

Question, does the constant warm to cold temperature change hurt the clubs? I mean, the glue in the hozel has to become weaker, with the steal expanding and contracting..

Hey, if he's in Ohio, it was near 50 on Friday and going to be mid 50's next Tuesday. No snow required..

Got 18 in today in N/ W NJ - mid 50's ... amazing weather for January.   First two courses that I know are open were booked solid - couldn't even get a tee time - seems I wasn't the only one wanting to take advantage of the epic warm weather

    • It may be more fun to go for the green on the course, but it's much more fun dipping into your friends pockets after the round. With golf being a game of good misses, I'll play boring golf all day long. Risk vs reward, just like everything else in life.
    • Imagine if Brooks had tweeted that…
    • Hmmm I realized that match play was hole by hole and having 6 strokes on a par 4 was just loss of one hole and didn't matter like it did of the stick which I couldn't win, I really like match play because I won alot of the time....
    • #40 Would You Rather... 1) Putt on greens that are fast (say 11-12 on the stimpmeter) but relatively flat and somewhat predictable, the major punishment being it will roll forever if you miss the hole.   OR 2) Putt on greens that are average (say 8-9 on the stimpmeter) but have great undulations, shelves that make you have to really think about how the ball will need to roll.    I'll take #1 all day long.
