Tiger has hit the old stinger a few times this week. Almost knocked the top off a cactus on that last one. His driver hasn't been that bad either, he just hasn't been hitting the ball close to the pins.

Obviously....Tiger must not trust him yet or something. I heard that same comment about Joe reading putts. And as I type this he pushes another one right! Tiger needs a belly putter! ha ha. I personally think Tiger dumped Steve because his ego wouldn't allow him to let Steve work with A Scott while he was hurt. In Tiger's mind he probably felt like Steve was his property and nobody elses. Which is kinda crazy if you think about it.

If I had to guess, I'd say Tiger probably figured he had made Stevie a rich man, and that it wouldn't kill Steve to sit out a few events while Tiger was injured. Tiger had seen a lot of people turn on him after the scandal, and was probably thinking Steve was one of the few he could count on. Then Steve pops up and says, as long as you're not playing, how about if I loop for Adam, and Tiger thinks, screw you, if a million a year isn't enough for you, go loop for Adam.

Yeah, but you figure even an average pro is going to make 3 or 4 putts out of 10 from 8-10 feet. Tiger is making like one in ten. He'd be shooting a 65 today if he was putting like he used to. Hope he figures it out in time for the Masters.

Boy was that nearly 190-yard 9-iron nice by Tiger. It's puttin' time.

That is very similar to the discussion that I tried to start during abu dabi. Think about how much of an advantage players like Phil and Tiger have because of their large crowds. They have the great wall of China lining every hole that they play....think about how many times phil smokes some guy in the back with his tee shots. If that guy wasn't there to take the bullet, Phil's balls could be in hazards, out of bounds or behind a tree. Instead their blass carom off some guys shoulder blade and end up back in the fairway. I know it doesn't happen all the time, but you would have to say it has helped win a few here and there. I actually have a buddy who played at Kansas, and played in a few PGA events. He had a few pairings with some bigger players and he said the crowds that line the fairways narrow your focus and almost make it easier because your ball can bounce off of them if you hit one off course. This is his opinion...Some may not agree due to the pressures of so many people watching. I would personally be so worried that I would hit those people that I would probably hit it over them. ha ha

he refuses to accept that his putting is what has been killing him since the PGA & Yang.

Stop the full swing dammit.  Your putting is your undoing.

The drama is with Tiger. Drama equals ratings. Ratings sell advertising.

I would guess the only way you could try to change it is by convincing a good chunk of the viewing public to turn off the TV when Tiger's playing. I for one, will keep watching.

True, but this one was more crucial.

Guy seriously has putting issues.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
