Will this week continue the run of dramatic finishes that we've been seeing all season?  No Rory or Tiger but still a great field

Check out these Experts Picks

Quote:
Expert picks: Transitions Championship

Brian
Wacker
LUKE DONALD . The last -- and only -- time Donald played here he tied for sixth in 2010. He's also coming off a tie for sixth last week in Doral and appears to be rounding into form after a slow start to the season. What's NOT to like?
John
Schwarb
WEBB SIMPSON . Well, this feature isn't treating me too well in 2012. Mired in last place and my No. 1 draft pick (Phil) went nowhere last week, so hopefully Simpson will do much better. He was runner-up to Gary Woodland last year and T13 in 2010.
If Schwarb had the top pick ... Simpson
Anne
Szeker
JUSTIN ROSE . He looked solid and confident in his win at TPC Blue Monster, and there's no reason to think he won't have another stellar week at Innisbrook, where he's finished in the top 25 in his last five starts here.
If Szeker had the top pick ... Rose
Helen
Ross
BRANDT SNEDEKER . In six starts this year, Snedeker already has a playoff win and two other top-10s. Plus, he has a comfort zone at the Copperhead Course with two top-10s there, including a tie for fourth last year.
If Ross had the top pick ... Snedeker
Ryan
Smithson
CHARL SCHWARTZEL . I am never leaving this guy off the board ever again. He's clearly one of the five best players in the world, and he showed it last week at TPC Blue Monster. Even as some of his shots misfired, he holed putts from all corners of the greens.
If Smithson had the top pick ... Schwartzel
Chris
Dunham
NICK WATNEY . It was tough to not take Kuchar in this spot, but I got burned last week for not taking Justin Rose again after a tough Honda finish. Don't want to make the same mistake with Watney after a poor opening 36 holes at TPC Blue Monster.
If Dunham had the top pick ... Watney
Amanda
Balionis
MATT KUCHAR . This is the first time I've ever picked the same player two weeks in a row, but he is coming off a top-10 finish at WGC-Cadillac. Last time he started at Transitions was in 2009, where he tied for 12th.
If Balionis had the top pick ... Schwartzel
Mike
McAllister
PETER HANSON . In his last two starts in the U.S., the Swede reached the quarterfinals at the Accenture Match Play, then tied for fourth at Cadillac. He also was runner-up in Qatar earlier this year, and he's familiar with Innisbrook.
If McAllister had the top pick ... Schwartzel
Lauren
Deason
ZACH JOHNSON . He's quietly had a solid start to the season, including a T8 at the Humana Challenge and T17s in two of his last three starts. Johnson, who tied for 20th at Transitions last year, is 21st on TOUR in Driving Accuracy this season.
If Deason had the top pick ... Schwartzel
John
Swantek
K.J. CHOI . The reigning PLAYERS champion is always at his best on the most demanding courses, reflected by the quality of his eight career victories. Two of those have come on the Copperhead course, where the South Korean was also runner-up in 2010.
If Swantek had the top pick ... Simpson

Mike McLoughlin

So much for luck of the Irish! 61-73? Paidrag missed a putt that was inside the leather...It couldn't have been more than 2 feet.

He'll shoot 63 today, drink 40 pints of Guinness tonight, and close with a 91.  (Kidding)

When Paddy won his third major, do you think he was satisfied with his golf career and just stopped working?  I love Paddy, and he saved the 2nd half of the 2008 season (gave us something to talk about when we were tired of speculating about Tiger), but he completely fell off the map after 2008.

Of all the guys on Tour, I think he'd be the most fun to spend the day with.  (Well, maybe Jiminez.)

    • Day 116 12-6 Still working on getting to lead side. Tonight I also tried some skill work with clubface awareness.  Hit foam balls.
    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
