Hey Trappers, I have to make a recruiting DVD for my son playing lacrosse and I have the individual game footage on seperate DVDs. I would like advice on what software to use to rip clips, delete the sound, rejoin clips with music, add graphics, and use highlighting/shadowing effects. Any advice is welcomed! Thanks.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and Sony Vegas Pro.  All 3 are professional level video editing packages, but Sony is the easiest of the 3 to learn.  If you don't need pro level software, Avid Studio or Sony Vegas Movie Studio are worth checking out.

Having used 2 of the above 3, as well as the Mac software, I'd say Sony Vegas is the one I'd definitely recommend.  It is as fully-featured as most others plus the UI and learning curve is pretty tolerable for the novice video editor.
