Also, if this rumor was about Tiger - I'm sure someone in the press would ask him about it.  Sounds like a perfect question for Kelly Tilgham or Alex Miceli to ask!  It's not like they are worried about their likeability with the tour/fans.

If Alex Miceli wants to make a name for himself, he should start an investigation into pot smokers on tour.  I know one mini tours pot smoking is not uncommon.  Some dudes think getting lightly baked pre round helps them.

Maybe since none of those guys have a shot at the US Olympic team it's not really much of a story. Now DJ on the other hand would otherwise be a lock.

I occasionally fire one up. (and its in no way a regular thing, once every two weeks or so), and have done so before a round of golf once last year. I shot well and was a lot calmer on the course, to be honest.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

PED? What does that stand for?

That seems like a regular thing to me. Not that I care. Just saying "every two weeks" sounds "regular."

FWIW, I smoked pot once. Mostly in the hopes of getting a bit more involved with the girl who supplied it. I ate an entire medium pizza later that night (and some other things too ).

Ya, I can see golf as being one of the only sports where it MIGHT give someone an edge in competition. Nerves are a huge part of competitive golf throughout a competition. Whereas, when I was playing hockey, it would have made me  lazy and slowed me down.

'or so'.

I guess, around here, in Canada, a 'regular user' of pot is daily (or more). Its so common on this side of the border that the government should just legalize it.

Our military started testing for it. The first round, they tested something like 1000 soldiers, and had to suspend over 70% for a month. After that, they stopped testing for pot, quietly of course.

I live in Socal.  I don't smoke, but a lot of guys I know and play golf with do.  And it isn't uncommon to be at the practice range or course (without my buddies) and smell the aroma in the air.  I'm surprised they haven't legalized it - to create additional tax revenues.

Hell, if it were Tiger's caddie/agent/trainer, somebody would have asked him about it.

Anyway, this thread is picking up steam.  I guess Rory does move the needle after all!

How are YOU considered are PED?

I found it much more exciting that John Daly put together a HOT 4th round to end up with a respectable finish, way more exciting that Rory got himself in the mix, even though it didn't work out in the end, and really cool that Dustin Johnson pulls off a win after months without playing (for whatever reason, frankly I don't care if he burns some pot, or blows some coke, its not going to make him play BETTER)...

This tournament was easily one of the most exciting of the year and Tiger didn't even play.

All great story lines indeed...  And all for a great cause (St. Jude).

But for me, the biggest issue was that it wasn't played out live on TV.  Thus, for me - it was one of the more disappointing tournaments of the year as I already knew the outcome before it aired on TV.

It's fairly well known that in the Catholic Church, saints are associated with Feast Days and various classes of people --- farmers, sailors, etc. Less well known is that they are associated with attributes. Attributes were objects that made it easy for the lay congregation, which was almost entirely illiterate during the Middle Ages, to identify the saints pictured in the paintings and stained glass of the cathedral. The attribute of St. Jude was a club. I don't know if that's why he's the only saint with a PGA tournament named for him, but it couldn't have hurt. I feel an affinity with him whenever I try to break 80, because he's also the patron saint of lost causes.
