Has anyone made a purchase that your foursome looks at you and wonders "what is that?" or "why in the world did you buy that?"  I don't mean any clubs or golf balls.  If I'm not making any sense, here's my example:

My friends all shake their hands and give me questioning looks when I use it.  I admit that I rarely use it and I purchased it on a whim but am I the only one with a purchase that give pause to the others in your group?

I recently played with a guy that had something rigged up to his pull cart to hold his burning cigarettes. The only time one wasn't in his hands or lips was when he took a shot.

I have a little plastic thing that clips to my bag and holds my tees all nice and pretty. I get made fun of for it.

A friend of mine in college had a plastic hand to keep his glove on strapped to his bag.

The guys I play with are pretty brutal on each other. Being caught with any silly golf accessory will get you the razzing of your life. We had a guy show up with iron covers for one of our games and we nearly had him in tears, needless to say it was the last time we saw them. Heck, having a ball retriever in your bag is a faux pas punishable by death! :-P

Oh God... I forgot about the iron covers and ball retriever.  He had those too.

As for two towels, ain't nothing wrong with that.  One for wiping clubheads and one for wiping grips and hands.

Heck, I have 3 towels hanging from mine. 1 that I get damp before the game to help clean the clubs, another that I use to dry the clubs, and one that I use for my hands and grips.

I guess that only odd thing I have in my bag is a swing trainer club. It's weighted and has a training grip. It technically gives me 15 clubs, but I never use it except at the range, and I just don't feel like taking it out. If I was playing a tourney or something like that I would take it out. But I always just play friendly games for fun.

I don't have anything too odd. The oddest thing might be my cleat fixing tool... I have had a habit of losing cleats mid-round, which is why I also keep replacement cleats in my bag.

Can you show a picture or post a link to this thing?

I have two towels, one is attached to my bag and the other is loose so I can carry it onto the green to wipe my ball.

I have one of these on my bag.... because I have an older buddy who always greets me with "Hey, you got your balls out of your wife's purse today?" or "Hey, you got your balls back, what's up? glad you could make it!"

Now everyone knows my balls are actually on my bag!

    • Day 3: about 20 minutes of putting on the practice green. Focused on putts within 10 feet.
    • I don't have enough details to know what to tell you, man. If they were walking across, to play devil's advocate, maybe just wait another 10 seconds next time.
    • Day 11: Putts with a metronome and worked on some feels for greenside shots.
    • I realize the frame cuts off my tail but wanted to specifically see my hand path and club shaft and head travel from A5 to A7 with the grip and posture work I have been doing . This might be the shallowest I have managed to get the club head to enter into impact. I like the finish much more as well.
    • Context:  I used to play golf very regularly (and when I'm playing regularly, I'm on TST regularly).  In summer 2022, I got my handicap down to a personal-best 11.9.  Unfortunately, in the three years since then, I've had far less time to play, and didn't really make the time to practice.  I've played a bit more the past few months, and I anticipate having a lot more time to practice starting in about two months, at which point I'm hoping to go back to my old practice habits (practicing daily, Evolvr lessons, spending more time on TST (come to think of it, I can do that important last part now)).   But it was thinking about how different my nines have been a few times in the past month or so that made me wonder if there was a thread here about it, and sure enough, there was.  In the past month or so, I've had a 38-46 and a 45-39.
