So everyone could tell I didn't do any fancy camera work, the clips are 100% unedited, and I just got up and hit some balls, Noting special about any of these drives at all. As you can see in the hybrid video, my wife  (the woman in the white shorts) was rushing me to go so each video was a "go at it once and throw whatever i captured on here" kind of thing.

First one is my driver and second is the 18* Rescue/Hybrid.

The driver is my old TM Burner 2.0   10.5*    45.5 inch shaft

The Hybrid is the Burner 2.0 18*       100% stock

I used my old driver because my new driver is broken.

Not that it matters with all the haters, but this was AFTER 30+ holes and practice on the range. My driver was my old driver with a huge loft.

The hybrid is off the mat.

I went back after eating dinner and played a round with the owner.

For the day (50 holes)   My longest drive was 371 @ 193 ball speed  (not too abnormal for a day at the bar playing)   My longest hybrid went 307 and I badly overdrove the green on a 325 yard par 4 dogleg right.  The hole played about 275 dead straight.

This is NOT me swinging all out, this is my normal driver swing.  I ended up breaking that club in two tonight.  I should have my custom LD driver back tomorrow so ill post some 350+ stuff. If i swung all out I would break that club within 30 swings. ( Referring to the Burner,  The shaft is only XXStiff).  My LD Driver usually last a good month or two of all out "HULK SMASH" stuff.

When i get my counterbalanced LD club tomorrow I'll post some going for the gold all out with ball speeds 200+.

And for anyone who thinks i tweaked the machine I will say you can (I didn't)  But the BALL SPEED does not lie and you can't tweak it.  You can only play with distances.

Either way..... Flame away and have fun.

Didn't have my GPS with me yesteday so couldn't measure it but hit certainly my longest drive ever (albeit wind assisted) and it must have been very close to the 300 mark.

380 yard par 4 and I had a steady SW to the green after my tee shot.

We've had a ridiculous amount of rain here but the course is starting to dry out now so that should help my distance.

The PS3 controller sucks, an the 360 has far better online functionality.

I saw a guy at the range I haven't seen in 5 years.  He took two years off to help his wife train for competitive body building, had some kids, etc.  He was there for the second time, since having not swung a club in two years.  He's 5'4", 48, has a shorter than parallel backswing, and was still carrying 290 with range balls into the wind with a 3-wood.  Same exact ball flight and line every time, really high 10-yard draw.  His swing never looks forced, he just hits it so damn solid, perfect balance, plays off maybe +2.  He seemed a little frustrated because he didn't like his ballflight, so he made an adjustment and started hitting 5-yard draws.  That's impressive stuff.  Same line every time, so consistent, crazy distance, smooth/short swing, 5'4" and 48.  This swing-hard and spray it macho-crap gets old quick.  Guys like that are a dime a dozen.

290? 3w? Not just smooth must be fast though.

good stuff, mate. Smash that little ****er!!!!

Taking the above advice may lead to destruction of your golf game. Laughing at it may reduce stress.

How'd you determine the 290 yard carry? Just curious. I can't see well enough to differentiate between 270 and 290 at the driving range.

The other day I was driving really well and almost found I was swinging harder was easier to hit solid. Hit 1 of my drives that 36 hole day ABOUT 300 yards. Give or take. As I know now distance isn't that important (as long as I'm farther than my friends). :) if Vegas flies farther it can happen 1 in 20. Especially if he's claiming they are rarely in the fairway.

I don't think you can hit one 300 with a 105mph swing unless you get a long roll-out.  To claim an unqualified 300 yard drive, in my opinion, it needs to fly 270, minimum.  Prodigies aside, most novice golfers would probably need a swing speed north of 130 to hit a 300 yard drive . .and then you'd never be able to find it to measure it.

Precisely what the OP is experiencing, which is why if someone not playing that course, but still able to pump the ball out to the 280-310 range every time could play that course then start a thread titled, "Why is it unbelievable I can drive it 400 yards?"

Can I visit your facility and have you jack that slider up for me and I can say I drive the ball 300+ yards too?

I'm actually amazed by guys like Bubba that hit the ball so far, but it's not a reality for me, so I expect to be a member of the "Short Knockers Club" (as I believe Sean calls us) for quite a long time.

I've even used it when you can drag a little slider in one of the settings windows so my 5I goes 280.

That was my point.

So now we have someone threadjacking a thread about how someone can hit it 300+ with how he can hit it 300+?

Enough Darksun. C'mon. This isn't your thread.

A consistent drive and consistent irons means someone can comfortably play to their index from the proper tees. A lot of guys in my golf league seem to be quite happy playing off their index with 200 yard drives. They actually seem to win more than they lose (if you know what I'm sayin').

So I'm up early watching The Open Championship this morning, and one of the players (maybe Bubba, but I'm not real sure) bombed a drive out to about 317 or so. Scott Van Pelt was on the commentary and said something to the affect of, "This is why, when someone at your club says they can drive it 320 you get to say 'Yea, no you don't.'"

This made me laugh out loud on the elliptical machine at the gym as it made me think of this thread, which I've been reading since its inception. No opinion one way or the other about the OP's driving skills, but just know this thread has left a mark on me.

I also laughed (I referenced that quote in the British Open Discussion thread).  I believe it was Sergio who drove it about 324, just past Tiger who drove it 317.

    • The hype with the LAB Putters is something ive kept a keen eye on but i havent actually tried one... yet!! I use a SeeMore PCB and have done for around 8 years now and it was a gamechanger for me. It was the first time i had been fitted for a putter and from then ive totally bought into the fact that the technology in the putters makes a massive difference The only issue i have with LAB was that i did quiz them on Instagram what the difference between my PCB and a LAB Putter would be as the PCB from what i can find is just as balanced as the LAB Putters, however LAB couldnt tell me what the difference was and just said they didnt beleive in SeeMore Technology, but i wanted to know 'Why'!!  So yeah, the tech im sure works and think if anyone hasnt gamed a putter like LAB or SeeMore where custom fitting is crucial, then you gotta give it a go!
