I've bought several over the years. Two have lost their heads on the course, and a couple I've given away to family.

The putter I currently use is a little higher quality than what I usually buy, and it has that awesome thick grip that I like. I hope to keep it a long time.

Edit : Well SH!t... They're on clearance for $12.. Maybe I should buy a couple more. :-)

One.  Newport 2.

In my view, its better to use one and become as comfortable with it as possible than switching back and forth.  Obviously, people will have different opinions, but that's mine.

I only have one, the one in my sig. When I'm done with a putter, it goes to a family member or a friend in need of an upgrade. Though my Crimson 660 is an older model, I take extreme care of it and the cover is on it before it's put back in the bag. It honestly has not even one scratch or nick on it and is 99/100 condition. It has been my favorite putter to date and I do not see myself changing any time soon.

I LOVED my Crimson 660.  I only switched because my best man (and golfing buddy) got me an expensive new putter as a wedding gift.  I've come to love it and I'm happy with it, but I saw no reason to switch from the Crimson.

Now my wife uses the Crimson.

I must have 20 or more between myself and my father. 5 or 6 different Camerons 9 or 10 different Ping putters including a real Scottsdale Anser. We just like putters call it an obsession. We have passed around each of them so many times I don't know which I bought and which he bought.

In spirit of some recent threads, I offer clarification: I was not implying a charitable situation. I meant purchasing.

Haha I like it!

I only have one putter right now but I think I want to try a new one out pretty soon.  We will see.

I have some weird attachment to my putters. I very rarely change putters and when I do I can't get rid of my old one. I can trade in any other club in the bag without a second thought, but old putters decorate my closet for life.

I only have one.  The one in my sig which I found on the side of the interstate when I lived in NC.  It had the head cover on it so no damage to the club and no way to find the original owner.  Have had it for probably 7 years or more now.  I tend to had down a lot of my clubs to siblings and family.  That is where all my other putters have gone.  Have only owned 3 in my lifetime though.

I've counted 5 putters currently.

Heavy Putter D1-M

Maltby Max Moment

Odyssey White Ice 2 Ball F7 (selling this one)

Killer Bee mallet (don't recall model name)

Distance Master (similar to current AS5 model)

The Heavy and Max Moment are fighting to stay in my bag.  I like the heavier weight heads (although the Heavy is the Mid Weight model) that promote a more stable stroke.  I also prefer a steel face because I have a tendency to leave putts short, so it helps when the ball bounces off the face a bit more.

I built the Killer Bee and DM putters.  I'd like the Killer Bee more, but the insert isn't ideal for me.  It might work better on really fast greens.  The DM was the first putter I built, but I prefer the larger mallets.

One more point most of the putters I own have never been taken to the course to be struck in anger. They might get to practice green but usually won't make it in play. I think this may be proof I have club issues lol.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
