I would like to thank my ball for the win...

Srixon needs a better name for its ball. The what? SRXK 1924929?

Wow!!, Jim F. played those last 4 shots the way I play...poor guy, leads tournament for 71 holes then train wrecks..kinda feel sorry for him

Yes, that chip of Furyk's on 18 into the bunker was something we can all identify with.  Uhgleeeee ....

Congrats to Keegan. Great win with an amazing clutch up-and-down, although I can't understand how a guy who looks like he's on speed can putt like that. I feel bad for Furyk, but even his mom would have to call that a choke. And after looking like he didn't have any aspect of his game under control, Tiger got a top ten. Actually, a top 8, his second top 8 in the last three weeks, against two of the strongest fields of the year. The only other golfer to do it was World #1 Luke Donald. It wasn't obvious, but Tiger's game is tightening up. He was near the top this week in total driving (on very fast fairways) and GIR. More significantly, he was near the top in sand saves, which have been a problem for him this year. Most significantly, he scored much better over the weekend than he did on Thursday and Friday, for the first time in almost two years. And not just relative to himself --- his 66 today, even with a back nine full of tap-ins, was tied for the fourth lowest round of the day. I'm cautiously optimistic about next week, and very optimistic about his next few years. He's back to the point where he can have an off week and still get a top ten, and will win during weeks where he makes some putts. He's still got a lot of work to do on his wedges, though.

It goes in the books as a win for Bradley, but it really was a loss by Furyk.  Srixon must really be pushing him to promote their balls because he seemed in a rush to get the promotion out and didn't sound very sincere.  Makes Ryder Cup selections more interesting, especially if Bradley does a decent job defending his title next week.

looks like Jim's 5 hour energy ran out on hole number 71...

Furyk blows it again on Sunday.  Wow, just wow.  How about Stricker?  Another good finish for the Wisconsin boy.

Someone give Furyk a long putter.  Watching him freak out over his putts is painful and unnecessary.  I feel for the guy but damn you can't anchor a chip shot.

Kind of except I would have chipped it into the sand.

His stroke on 18 had the looks of the start of a yip stroke in it. He knew it when he hit it too.

I just don't get what Furyk was trying to do on 18..  It was the amateur mistake I make all the time.. He didn't have a clear shot at the pin because of his drive being down the left hand side of the fairway..  So, he decides to draw it around.. UMMM Jim... Why not take out a club that DOESN'T bring the back bunkers / rough into play, just in case you don't draw it around into that small area where the pin is..  Play safe.. Take 1/2 club less, put the ball in the fat part of the green, and 2 putt......

Yes, Furyk played the last 4 shots poorly, but Keegan put himself in position by playing bogey free golf with 6 birdies in the final group.

As far as Ryder Cup goes (I just posted at http://thesandtrap.com/t/60725/2012-ryder-cup-standings ), I think he is a virtual lock to make it on points even if he misses the cut at the PGA.  Assuming 1 guy from outside the top 8 plays his way into the top (potentially bumping Phil), then it might get interesting, but I might be inclined to just go with the current top 12.

How it will play out but the top 5 seem to be virtual locks to make the top 8 points and would likely be selected even if they don`t.  Johnson and Kuchar likely just need a decent week to remain top 8 and I would take them regardless.  It is hard too pass on Phil, but he hasn`t been better than 43rd since May, so it would be nice if he played well this week.

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
